It's true. While I'm not focused on money, it sure makes life easier in some respects. Guess it's all about perspective. Then again, I've already done a lot of traveling so if the OP hasn't, that's important to do IMO. _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

taku, here comes the funny part.... im 32. I have been an auto tech (mechanic with a lot more knowledge) for about 12 years. now I manage a small shop that is connected to a Mobil gas station. Im just not happy. the money isnt the best, but somehow I always have money and don't even worry about my paycheck from my job. paydays are on saturday????? so sometimes i don't even go to work and won't pick my check up for days. The funny thing is I just can't seem to get fired. for example I didn't work yesterday and the owner ask if I could just come by and go cash a check for him,,,? Today, not at work either, I just text the owner telling him I want to go out on the boat today......not coming to work. His reply was , just let me know next time.
Classy... the board shop is really small and doesn't do much business. It would prolly only pay @ $200 a week. but have alot of time off and watching videos and shizzle while at work.. damn Im immature |

It sounds like you are just bored to death with your job. Yea it's time to move on, that sort of boredom isn't going to go away or get better. Time to find something fresh.
What financial obligations do you have? car payment, house payment etc? Could you just quit and be financially stable for 6 months without going in the red on credit cards or whatever? _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

taku, I think you nailed it.. Iam VERY bored.. bill wise... car note, rent, child support, insurance, no big credit card balances. on the other hand I think I will just go to work 2morrow and see if I am fired, I doubt it, but who knows. |

i could be wrong or it could be different in different states, but i was under the impression that unemployement comes from the place u were fired from _________________ I run show where ever I go. |

So cheapskate, you are managing the place? Is there any room for growth? It's not a bad thing to talk to your boss to let them know you're interested in taking on more responsibility (i.e. something different/more). You can always quit and leave, going back isn't as easy and I'm not sure how marketable you are with your skills etc, but there are a lot of jobless people out there right now. Don't get fired, that's going to burn that bridge you worked years to build.
As long as you aren't charging it on credit cards and have the money in the bank to sustain yourself for a minimum of six months (worst case scenerio) then maybe you should take a month or two off work. The crappy part is interviewing and looking for new jobs. Maybe you have a choice job and don't even realize it ya know?
Anyways, hope the thread helped you to figure out what to do _________________ chance favors the prepared mind |

I must go.. had some great time off and had some great progession sessions with fastgreens. I will be at the shop 2morrow, however, I must be off this friday and saturday for some serious shred fest. hope he understands |

cheapskate,
Why don't you find another shop to work for? I'm sure there are others with more flexibility. I also hear good things about the BMW Step program if your interested in going to classes. _________________ wake____ing=love/life |
