paulmc, thanks, i slotted it a work on the bridgeport.
the dimensions are 30"x20"x20.5" i tried to keep it as small as possible while keeping enough room for an 8hp later down the road. it fits nicely into my hatchback.

well teh design isn't like either of yours but nice winches anyways. Razz

for now i am going with a 6hp briggs. if it pulls as good as my old 6.5 briggs, i will run it. if i have power issues i will buy an 8.

goddamn parts didn't come today. Mad

why do you have 2 layers of square tubing welded on top of one another at the back of your frame?

so the tav dosn't touch the ground/water. it also levels the frame when wheels are attatched. typically there would be three more pieces welded to the bottom, but i did it this way to save a little weight, and steel for that matter.

LFArmada, how does that 6hp tehcumseh pull?? i just noticed your tav does not protrude lower than the engine, how did you manage that?? maybe the tecumseh's shaft is higher than the briggs??

The motor pulls nice enough for me. I can get up deep water on a skate. I weigh 180. Some less skilled people and some heavier people cant get up deep water. We usually so shore starts which work fine.

I didnt have any clearence issues mounting my tav level with the ground. I dont knowwhats different about it. I just worked Laughing
