| There's a wakeboard competition at a local lake tomorrow and I think I'll end up entering the wakeskate division. I'm really not a great rider but figure it'd be fun to hang out at the lake and I might as well get some riding in. I was supposed to hit the lake this morning but my third bailed on me so I'm not really sure how I'll ride. I'll have my family and girlfriend watching me so should be good times. |

Nice! That's pretty much how I approached comps when I used to wakeboard. I rarely had the chance to ride behind a tournament boat, so it was always a huge difference going from my little boat to that. Ultimately it was just an extension of the lifestyle for me...it was really cool driving to an event to ride and just hanging out for the day and catching up with people. You definitely don't have to take competitions seriously to make it worth while.
Anyway, have fun at that event! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Hell yea...go have fun! I go to a contest or two each summer just to hang out. There's always people there that I know that I only see a few times a year so it's always super fun.
Oh, and you might meet someone there that's a reliable 3rd! _________________ facebook.com/TheLiquidPlayground

Went to the Scion Open at KCW today, didnt compete but it was definately sick to watch.
Kenny Bartram (motocross) pulled a backflip OVER an Air Nautique, it was INSANE i was like 20 feet away. _________________ "Wakeskating is...not fun. Its about getting in the water, landin your effin tricks and gettin out."

| I got second, out of four. It was a lot of fun. My girlfriend took some pictures but I think they are super wide shots. I'll probably post them later anyways. I got a little nervous when the girl registering me said that wakeskating would be the biggest class of the day, but I had a real good practice ride that helped me shake of my nerves. There was a wakeboarder that went right before me and did a set filled with some sick slayshes that got me pretty stoked to ride. One of the other skaters was 41, just kinda starting out and super stoked to be there. I also met someone who said they ride with liquidforce71 and heywood on here. |

I've entered two college contests, did better on the first one, 9th out of about 30, made the finals. _________________

| jcoffey, if the price isn't too much, just do it. Who knows maybe you'll have a lucky day. It's lame sitting on shore when everyone else is out their ripping. |
