Sorry if i got anyone excited.. but.. what if? I mean winches are already crazy good on gas. But what if someone made one that is entirely gas-free? They definitely make some powerful electric motors these days.

Thoughts?

Or an electric PWC or even a boat!... Rolling Eyes

jk

I really don't see a need to get any better fuel efficiency out of a winch tho.

Maybe an electric car would be a good idea...

LFArmada, They had an electric car. They reposessed each and every one, too. F*ck you America. My original idea was more inspired by a quieter pull, like Alex said, less bust factor, etc. Plus the sound of a winch annoys me Wink

there already are electric winches. Rixxen has developed one. the Romboso pool gap session will be pulled by such a winch.

alright let me rephrase Wink

The sound of a winch doesn't annoy me, but the thought of a (more or less) silent winch is awesome. It would be awesome to hear only the sound of the board on the water Cool

i would be fine with any winch but that would be sick if they made electric ones i could use it at night and not get in trouble Smash

LemonWake, no but there's enough water around that i would worry about it. I don't know how big of a battery you would need but it could be pretty gnarly.

for an example i was reading popular mechanics and a guy made a bike that goes like 47 mph or something and for power he just used 6 over the counter deep cycle marine batteries...it cost like 280 dollars or something
