Winch Help

I have searched and cant find exactly what I am looking for.

I have been wakeskatin for a year or two now and with gas prices the way they are and not ownin my own boat im seriously considering a winch.

The thing is I dont know anyone who has one and i want to know what im gettin myself into.

So basically im lookin for a rookies guide to winching.

Im considerin gettin the snow grinch if that makes any differnce.

I want to know everything from what makes a good spot to how to operate and how reliable they are.
