Why do you wakeskate?

i have always skateboarded when i was really little. and then i had a wakeboard that i got for christmas. and then i would always see danny hampson in the boat, so i got a wakeskate from him and started to wakeskate,

the feeling you get when you land something HUGE and ride away carving into the flats on a cool glassy day running the water through your fingers and the wind in your hair feels amazing. i wouldnt choose to be anywhere else, besides some girl's pants.

I originally was hard core tuber when i was 10. Then i'd wakeboard every now and then when i tubed around the age of 12. After 7th grade, i got a fiberglass wakeboard, and it got much easier. After 9th grade, i got my first newer board, a liquid force balance, and also got my first butter session. I was hooked on it now. This past summer i bought a Hyperlite 3ds and was even more hooked than ever. I improved more this summer than i have the past summers combined. I was trying a 360 and took a hard fall that gave me a concussion, and got pissed off that i took such a hard fall, and a week later took another hard fall. I was ready for something new to mess around with for the days after i've fallen hard, so the next week i got a catalyst and i love wakeskating once the strapping session is over, but it's never my first choice, wakeboarding will always be choice one

I started skateboarding when I was like 11 cause I was a rebel soul. That or to be cool, I can't really remember. I soon found out how awesome it was and rode as often as I could with my posse. Then I found snowboarding which was even more awesome. Its so smooth and stylee, you don't have to think about anything else. Its so freeing. So then basically I lived to ride, but had to do something in the off season. I picked up wakeboarding, which was ok. It was a totally different experience but still pretty rad. I recently picked up wakeskating and its way tighter than wakeboarding. I still suck, but the feel of it is amazing. The second you get up you can tell that the months to come are just going to get better and better.

I wakeskate because I love the individuality of the sport. Everyone has they're one style, your out there doing your own thing and same thing with everyone else. I love how wakeskating has brought me to meet new people that love what I love. Wakeskating has done only positive things for me and I'm sure it will stay that way for a while...

to me wakeskating is a form of expression, style , and dedication.
when im on that peice of expensive wood gliding over the water im in a different state of mind of pure stoke. Lifes troubles end when i get pulled out of the water and i feel nothing but good vibes.

There are so many reasons..

When i'm out on the water there's no such thing as gas prices, work, politics, school, social lives. There's nothing to worry about because when you look down at what's beneath you, you see yourself doing something that few else do. Gliding above the water with a freedom unknown to those who don't share our passion. Every time you catch a trick, when your feet get back on the board, this undescribable feeling takes over and you lose yourself to the rhythm... pop, catch land. Simplicity that reaches from sport, to art, to rhythm, to feeling, to soul, to life. Style is something that i live for in all areas of life. The feeling of being set apart, not because you try, consciously to be different from others, but because you are the only one that can be you. You do a simple ollie, or a shuv, and know that none like it has or will ever be done like it, that ollie, shuv, 3 shuv, bigspin, kickflip, etc. is YOURS. And for that mater, wakeskating is yours.

That and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Afro
