Does the fin set up on the 4-trac affect the way you ride ( the 2 fins setup for locking in) or it just the same as having one fin on each side. Cuz I wanna get the 2004 Cassette 41 4-Trac Grip (Aaron Reed), but if those fins are gonna screw up the way i ride i wouldn't even bother to get it unless im thomas horrell and I can slide docks and crap but thats just not happening

| The 4 Trac is my favorite board. I love the way it rides. I would suggest it over any other board, but if you are looking to save a little money and are not really interested in doing nose slides or the asymetrical shape, go with the regular 3D.

| Dave, can you tell any difference between the 4 track and regular symetrical boards when riding w2w. Like landings on 180s and switch 180s. Is the edging noticably different on the nose and tail. I like to just throw shuvs and then break back into w2w and then back into shuvs, does it bum you out when you have to do an extra shuv before you w2w.

Yeah, I can tell a difference because the 4 Trac feels like it has better pop to me. It may just be in my head?
It is funny you ask about doing another shuvit when the nose is in the back. I don't think it would really matter, but that is one thing that just gets in my head and bothers me until I get the board back to the normal riding position. The funny thing is that sometimes I'll forget or I'll get up with the board in the wrong direction and everything is great until I notice it is the wrong way, then I feel like I have to get it back to the normal position. The one thing I did that I wouldn't suggest if you play the same mind games with yourself that I do is to mark the front or back of the board. I put a sticker on the edge of the nose that I can see while I'm riding, so I know for sure what direction the board is facing. If that sticker wasn't there, I probably couldn't even tell. But besides my silly mind games, it is by far my favorite skate.

| Thats funny. I have my flat 43 painted up a little on the top and sometimes catch myself shuving it around to get it back to normal. Good to know I'm not the only obsesive compulsive wakeskater. I need to try a 4trac sometime. Must admit the thought of locking in noseslides does intrige me. I'm haunted in my sleep by that one TH does down the funbox in those retention ponds in sfumato.

If you got the cash I'd say get one. You can always ride it with just one fin on each end. And who knows how good you'll get. You might eventually throw down noseslides or 50/50's. Just a thought.

| My 43 has the "C" on the top and I always want it facing the right way too. Keep up the OCD fight!

Only if you have installed the extra fins before. Otherwise, the grip tape is covering them.

just pop some silicon in those extra holes and your good to go. that way you only have the front and back fin. i dont see the need to take the back and front one off, i can seem to spin that board around w/out difficulty. my gate and kampus the fins would catch and was much more difficult to spin it around...but there is something different about the 4trac, i can spin it around with ease w/fins.
