So I went out for the first time today, but only had about half hour of riding time because of light. Unfortunately I couldn't get up so any advice would be helpful. I've never used a wakeboard or anything before so not sure if I have the form right, I was laying on my back with my heels on top of the board, and when I started getting pulled it went right to the bottom of my feet.

I had my elbows locked on top of my knees but for some reason I couldn't my board wouldn't get up on top of the water. Whenever I'd start getting pulled I would try to have the board at like a 45 degree angle to the water but after a couple of seconds I would get pulled to hard over my board because it wouldn't get up on top of the water.

I feel like the jet ski wasn't going fast enough, probably never got above 12 mph but I feel like anymore than that without being on top would keep ripping me off. Can anyone see anything wrong I'm doing, I'm heading out early tomorrow and hoping I have a clearer idea of what I should be doing. Question

Thanks man, I'll try those out tomorrow. Any advice on ski speed, it sounds like that might be what the problem is. Question

speed wise i just have the driver smoothly put the throttle wide open. you need to find a balance between resisting the boat too much and getting the handle jerked out of ur hand, and not resisting enough and getting pulled forward

Try to suck the board up as far as you can as the ski starts going, so you get on top of the water faster. And dont let go of the handle, squeeze it like sloth squeezes a fresh babe ruth.

I think this is the main thing i have to work on, I feel like I've probably been resisting it too much, thanks.

floating with the board under your feet. use your arms to tread the water. kind of in a position like you're sitting on the crapper. if you can do this then all you gotta do is grab the handle, keep your arms straight and knees bent, and hold on.

try just standing on the board in the water, and like fastgreens said, you can start from that position as well. ive found that my friends who have trouble with basic wakeskating have problems keeping the board under the water while floating, so maybe it will help with ur board control in general, that one is kinda a stretch tho

Brett Leadley, I was actually at XTU all Saturday and was unbelievably hungover/dehydrated Sunday so I only got out for about 45 mins on Sunday night, but didn't really get anything going. I'm up in Marlton for the week but starting this weekend I will be on the Mullica full time so hopefully we can meet up some time.
