Yep! I've had plenty of ankle sprains back when I played soccer a lot. I'm actually nursing a sprained toe right now. Messed it up the Monday before last playing indoor soccer and I can still hardly walk on it. But yeah, sprains totally suck for sure because there's really nothing you can do other than rest it...and who wants to be off their feet for weeks on end? I'd go get an ankle brace if you don't have one already.

magicace, Ice it and elevate it. Also do simple exercises. I used to sprain the shizzle out of my ankle when I played basketball. Would turn every color you could think of, kinda nasty.

yea start soaking it in a bucket of hot water mixed with epsom salt. and dont use crutches for that long and stretch it continuously whether your watching tv at school/work or whatever just roll it around. i made the mistake of not doing that with mine a few months ago when i tore some stuff down there and it was all swollen and bruised and now i cant squat down and keep my heel ont he groudn at the same time Sad

Jordan Sprague, Don't ice it? What, the point is to get the swelling down. The first time I sprained one of my ankles I neglected the ice and now my ankle is permanently swollen where the sprain was. From then on I let the trainers take care of it and ice, elevation and exercises was the regiment, everyday. Healed quickly and perfectly.

Yeah I don't think I'd listen to Jordan's advice.

Rest
Ice
C
ompression
Elevation

That's pretty much the standard practice when it comes to spraining stuff. From there it will vary from physical trainer to physical trainer, and from person to person depending on how well you know your body and how bad your injury is. Personally, I try to follow the above RICE regiment and stay off the injury as much as possible for at least two days, and from there I'll tape it up and hobble around until I can put weight on it and then I'll start moving it around a bit just to make sure I've got a full range in motion. But as far as I know sprains = tears in your tendons, so I wouldn't try to rush your recovery. Unfortunately, spraining stuff just sucks and there's really nothing you can do about it unless you know how to tape your ankle up real good. That'd actually be something that would be worth googling if you wanna get out and ride this weekend or whatever.

I've broken both ankles twice, torn ligaments going along with a hairline spiral fracture in the right as well as bone coming off with the ligaments.
go eat a cup of concrete and harden the fvck up
