And that my friend is why you are the only(non rider) guy I respect in this industry, and I only half agree with jack cav, they make it easier not by innovation but by allowing access, to everybody and more people means more money in the industry. And I totally agree with you Erich about the coporate side of buisness, but like I said we can't just bash Hyperlite when as you know except for a chosen few EVERYBODY is doing the same, I only respect Hyperlite more because at least they stand behind their product, call obrien connelly gator liquidforce or almost any of their customer service departments for a warranty claim and they'll blow you off, they love you when you buy it and hate you when you break it. but thats just been my expeirience.

Vance, In that case she wouldn't have the MD in her hand, but rather, she'd tie it up in the parks binding like it was a hostage...a hostage fighting in the name of all that is extreme...

My mom rocks.

BTW the post isn't do you like hyperlite's buisness practice, I am well aware that everybody hates hype and you all know that I own a gate, I also own a kampus and a cassette, and will soon own an Integrity as soon as I save up the 275 I really wanted to know if everybody agreed if that was what was wrong with the performance of the product, not if they agree with my purchases

Ok and to answer that question, No i don't think thats wrong with it, i don't like the feel of the skate, it feels like I hate to say it but a mini wakeboard, it just rides to high in the water and i liked nothing about it

I know I was just being a smartass. I like the skates but they do need a few fixes or whatever you want to call them. One they need to be heavier, two they need to come with the option (sp?) of coming with grip or foam. Also I could care less about the Gate, I don't think they kicktails do anything, just gimick for sale. Three they are plenty wide enough, no reason to make them wider. Thats about it.

As for the post made by Schmaltz, you are totaly awesome for what you are doing. At first I had no clue who you were, I just thought you were some guy starting a skate company but then just the other day I see a article about you in Wakeboarding Mag. It was about the top ten most influensual (sp?) people in wakeboarding, just saying I found that really cool and admire you for your true love to the sport.

JankyZep, there is alot more to Schmaltz then a board company and an article in wakeboarding magazine. Do some reasearch if you can, cause the guy really has done alot for this "sport" and the one where they wear bindings. and he's one of the coolest mofo's around

Also, your post is kinda confusing and it souds like your mixing up posts and assuming that Schmaltz is the one that started this thread, Which is not true.

wakeriderof87, thank you I agree, thats why I was saying to make them heavier, then they would ride deeper and rotate more like a wood skate, I also didn't say it in the letter, but now I feel I should have also said that the center of the rails should be detuned to give it less of a "wakeboardy" feel

JankyZep, I own a gate and have ridden all the hype skates, to me it feels like the gates kick tails do help on ollies, but I feel the tails are too narrow on all their boards, the gate just being the worst offender and I've seen alot of people agree with that on the other hype skates as well, so thats why I included that comment, however I have size 13 feet, nuff said; but if they work for you awesome,

RUSSIAN, definately good advise for any wakeskater/boarder, shoulda told him about Decline, I know thats what really got me to look into what Erich was about, and it made me want toss my LF and get a mutiny, so I did.

seven11dmd, First off what are you talking about. In the last part I was talking about Schmaltz.

RUSSIAN, I messed up writing it and forgot to include Schmaltz's name, sorry about that mix up.

kento911, I have heard a lot about it being to thin but I like it how it is. Maybe because I wear a size ten DVS but when I land it is just perfect, I don't feel squrrilly (sp?) at all. Maybe they should also make different length and width for the Gate's. That might help so not everyone is stuck with something they don't want.

I have news for you guys, I was able to talk to Brandon Thomas, and he said that Hyperlite is supposedly going to double glass their skates to make them feel more like wood, I felt his; niiiiiiice good weight, not too heavy, also he hinted that wood skates may be making a comeback in the hyperlite line courtesy of Parks, possibly with grip tape!!! He also showed me how he modified his kick tails by cutting them down which makes them wider, and a little less cumbersome, he also said he would like to "mellow the edges out some" so it edged more like a wood skate however he said the soonest the tails might change would be mid season 05.

However I am severely pissed that Hyperlite hasn't responded to my email, and I feel that the riders and reps carry the weight of public image for jerk-offs in corporate, but hey Hyperlite you can prove me wrong by giving me some response, you know it is customary to RESPOND to customer feed back!!!
