So I just bought a used winch that needs a little work. But I just don't have the time to build one from scratch. Anyways, it has a 6.5hp motor which is brand new but it does not have a torque converter just a clutch and they way it is right now it will not get me out of the water. If I put a torque converter on it will this help. I am about 190lb

yes it will help alot. what brand engine do you have ? i like cc clutches, but for winching they just don't have the get up a torq a verter gives you. the downside is that if you don't have a spool that you can allow to spin freely the rope is kind of "tough" to pull. either way you're inner diamter of the spool, and sprocket all need to be correct sizes. _________________ "I said take me to the sea, cause that is where I want to be. the chain is either a #35 - bike chain or #41- dirt bike chain. Then you buy a TAV to match your chain size. _________________ ~ www.integrity-wake.com ~ www.iwinchglobal.com ~ |

mergeleft3, well you are probably gonna need a new sprocket, so you guy a sprocket made for a certain size chain (either 35 or 41) and you get a TAV that is compatible with the same chain size. Then you will also need to buy chain that will work on both your tav and sprocket.

Just found out that the chain is a 35 from the guy I bought it from so I guess all I need now is the TAV. Is there anything better about having a 41 chain or is a 35 alright?

#41 is stronger, so if all you have is a old #35 chain then i think its worth buying your TAV and sprocket with #41 and buying a new chain also
