i ride finless but only because when i bought my board from the local store i didnt have enough money so they said if i gave them the fins the would sell me the board for the amount of money i had and i said ok. so i have never really tried with fins. except on a wakeboard. but wakeskating finless made me take my wakeboard fins off. it gives you better board control and makes you a better rider. because its all you. you are not aided by anything but the peice of wood under your feet. _________________ 407-212-7425 |

OK...the comment about cheating was made about how I felt about my finless riding. I guess you can't "cheat" in the traditional sense, since there are no rules but I felt like I was cheating myself. I don't call it a grab if I only slap the board, either. As I said, I used to ride finless all the time. 2 seasons worth. I totally agree that it makes you learn to ride on the rails and improves your carving abilities. I just decided that since I didn't want to be all sloppy anymore, I may aswell put my fins on and force myself to pop and stick my tricks instead of being able to land with the board in any position as long as I was upright and over my board. It's still all personal preference and I couldn't care less how anyone else rides. I know how I like wakeskating to look and how I want my riding to look and thats the way I'll ride. _________________ "You might not see things yet on the surface, but underground, it's already on fire." |

| all of you little wakesaters that ride with no fins are a bunch of water dancers, when have you ever seen a skateboarder with no trucks and wheels. become a real skater and put fins on your boards and then try to claim half the tricks that you water dancers on here claim you do. |

kushmaster,
Bring me two fins and ill stick any trick i can "water dance" as you say. ill go w2w with fins, 360 shuvits with fins, fs bigspins with fins. I'm not far away either 30 minutes. Bring your camera to. then ill become a "real skater". |

| People can ride anyway they want, but fins do make it more like a real skateboard and make you alot cleaner and pop stuff higher in the end,,and fins dont really ever mess up slides unless there like 2 inches or something |

This is hilarious! Unless hoverboards have slipped passed me, no, I've never seen a skater without trucks and wheels. Why does it even matter if skaters use trucks and wheels, yet wakeskaters ride without fins? I don't get the comparison. |

| because on a skateboard you cant slide a shuvit or a big spin or do rediculous surface spins that require no skill whatsoever. with fins on you actually have to pop first like a skateboard .Stop water dancing and use fins. |

I see your point, I just thougt it wasn't a good comparison because a skateboard is not functional without trucks and wheels where as a wakeskate is perfectly fine without fins.
Some may like that they can get away with not popping when riding finless, but there or others like me that will pop every trick with or without fins and prefer a finless feel.
So to generalize everyone as "waterdancers" that ride without fins is really unfair. But the term "waterdancer" is pretty funny. |

| I feel way too sketchy without fins, but I like to have real small ones. |

kushmaster,
Why is it so important to you that everyone feels the same way as you do about riding without fins? It is possible that others have a different opinion. It would be better in your mind if everyone did the exact same tricks, rode the exact same boards, had the exact same style? Isn't this sport about expressing yourself? Oh wait, it is about us expressing how you think it should be.....lame!
"Waterdancer" was funny the first 150 times you used it, but now it is old news..... |
