winners have been e-mailed, so if you have not received an e-mail, sorry. But we'll be doing another dvs/redbull giveaway soon. I have some human trailers stuff, which is limited in sizing, but the gear is limited to begin with. Anyway, I have a pair of DVS/Human Trailers modified Triumphs (they have a HT patch on the tongue--check out the museum if you want to see what they look like) and a human trailers t-shirt.

What would you rather have us give away first--a transgression wakeskate or the human trailers stuff?

I wish they wouldnt make all these dope products limited and they would just release them to the market. The DVS limited shizzle is always way more dope than the production shizzle. We are getting the shaft people...

thefunky31, you are being a whiner. Generally speaking, in order to make a run of shoes they need a minimum order number. I'm not sure what that is...I don't know if it has to do with a dollar amount (which could reduce the # of shoes made, but raise the price of each pair of shoes) or what, but as an example buywake had their first exclusive DVS wakeskate shoe made in an order of 500 pairs, which is limited edition. It took them two years to sell through those shoes and at one point they were discounted as a clearance item. They also still have their exclusive wakeskate kenyans. My point? It's hard to make a wakeskate specific shoe when the market is extremely limited and only certain outlets are going to be interested. It can be tricky when a huge portion of your clientele are skate shops, not wake shops or what have you.

I don't know all of the details, but that minimum order would have been what was needed in order for the cassette line of DVS shoes to go into some sort of expanded limited edition production, and jim definitely tried to make it happen. For now, the riders can test what works well and what doesn't, and jim (and now I'll add justin tucker, since the new wilson 4 is his first wakeskate shoe design there) is doing a kick ass job at finding new stuff that's going beyond the standard mesh we've all become familiar with. and I can assure you that Jim and DVS is working on coming out with a more advanced wakeskate shoe, but certain things have to fall into line for that to work.

Ultimately, I'm just stoked that DVS has been supporting wakeskating since the beginning, literally. They've supported thomas and some of the other cassette riders since the beginning of that era, and they've been offering a versatile shoe in their line up since 04 that can cater to a skater or a wakeskater...that duality is why it's been possible for so long anyway. Take it or leave it, but what they did is more than anyone else can speak of...

anyway, if you really like the DVS team stuff, keep supporting the buywake/DVS projects. Outside of DVS's recent team edition shoes, those kenyans are very close to what a team rider would have had, I think minus the style of foam in the tongue. Ambush/Buywake are have what allowed DVS to make a full on wakeskate shoe for wakeskaters, which is awesome.

And I should have said this in my first post, but I need to thank Jim at DVS for having these shoes to give away. We still have some wake edition adage shoes that will be given away at some point as well (after the HT Triumphs).

Well the annoyance comes because if you look at the 07 line they have drab colors and are boring as hell. If you look at all the special limited edition shoes they are always way better colors and just a better looking shoe all around. It doesnt have to be a wakeskate shoe. Any regular skate shoe with some decent colors would be fine. It seems that any limited edition shoe from DVS wether it be wakeskate or skateboard is always so much better than the original one. Take for example the munition. Last years were 100 times better than this years. The colors this year are drab dull and boring where as last year they had some serious sex appeal. I dont give a shizzle wether they are for skateboarding or wakeskating. Makes no difference to me. I just would like to have the colors that are exclusive and only handfuls of people are able to get because they are usually 300 times better than the original. Maybe they tested the colors on the market and thats what people like. I dont know. But they need to talk to some non emo skaters and find out what really looks good IMHO...
Or do they get the color scheme ideas from the Pro's????

I can whine all i want because you have whined to me before....
