Xp is much easier to work with... and i personally hate macs. Yes to all you mac users, i dont like your OS, stop trying to force it on me please, with catchy ad campaigns and millions of people that feel the need to use their hands to speak.

The main question for me is what are your system specs?

If you don't have a pretty strong system, with a good amount of ram, I definitely wouldn't upgrade. No question about it in my mind...

dude Vista is poo. IT nerds at work reckon "linux is the way to go - but if you have to use microsoft products then XP is the best"

daniel, lucky, i know it takes a good system to run it, and if you compare the potential macs have to pcs then its unreachable, macs can hold so much more memory, and proccess things so much quicker (pc fan myself) but they are made for fiznackling morons. i cant stand having to use one.

-=AlexXx=-, haha
I use vista at work and it is almost as bad as comparing a macs operating system to xp. After having used pc's for 5 years and now having used a mac for 3 I can say macs just run better. Ya I have seen some friends end up with some problems with their macs but that happens with technology. Compare that to how many screwed up pc's there are and I am sure the # is much higher. I do see a lot of people around campus using macs now. It seems like everyone has one. I almost want to leave mine at home so it doesnt look like I am trying to join the crowd. I am over mac users telling pc people to go play video games and then they counter back by telling us to go draw something. Smash Use what you want and let it be. I hear that crap everyday between art students. It really is personal preference.

Good point, and I honestly believe that upgrading a system to vista is where most problems lie. Microsoft is forcing people to upgrade their system. but technology is like that, at some point you have to overhaul, like it or not.
For the record I bought a new laptop with xp, that comp had a couple of minor issues that could not be worked out. HP replaced and upgraded it and one of the upgrades was vista, I didn't have a choice on the os upgrade unless I wanted a refurb(or downgraded ram, chip and HD), I got a bigger HD and better chip out of it Very Happy Very Happy(core 2 to core 2 duo)

Apple gets their processors from Intel just like everyone else does, and doesn't hold any more memory than any other comparably equipped unit. See: Dell Precision workstation

How does America like their OS?

That said, this graph counted the percent of users polled who said they are "very satisfied with" their OS. It doesn't count people who like (but not love) their OS. link

design any PC of your choice, then try to compare its capabilities to the mac. the mac offers more storage, better proccesser.. why do all the major movie companies use mac to store all their data and proccess it?
im not trying to pick a fight that mac's better. just based on experience and other things, the mac is much more efficient, maybe not OS wise. but storage and processing.
