...WHY...?
WakeSkating has it's own identity why bite tricks from wakeboarding ?
The raley symbolizes everything that went wrong with wakeboarding. Monkey see Monkey do Raley variations brought the sport down in my opinion... We should be more focused on what hasn't been done ! ...

Uh, its own identity? How about the fact that wakeskating ripped off TWO sports...
Although it kills both, but it isnt its own identity.
And how about focusing on not limiting what you can and cant do.

I dunno, never seen it until today when I got my WAKEBOARDING magazine, haha, but still, looks fun.

It's apart of the board sports movement there for certain tricks cross over from surfing to skating snow etc. and certain tricks are unique to each sport... skating first copied Surfing on pavement now surfers copy skate type tricks... that dosen't mean they don't have their own identity.

It ruined the sport because everone who competed back in the day knew raleys scored big points so all everyone did was raleys and raley variations... instead of tring something else or freeriding it was all routeen, all the top riders who placed did the same tricks so it just became one big raley fest... plus the trick is named after a water ski instructor.
It just represents a time in wakeboarding that I consider to be it's low point...

then again, it's just my opinion.
