http://www.bulletlines.com/servlet/the-50/Wakeboard-Winch-Frame%2C-Wakeboard/Detail
i saw this at bulletlines.com and was wondering if it was a good price for a frame and how much metal and welding would usually cost if i was to make it myself instead of buying one.

i think you could make one for a little bit cheaper but you could spend the extra bucks and got a nice frame. are you on a budget trying to build a winch?

with $1500 you could use this frame and still build a nice winch with the other $1050...if you want less work then i would buy the frame

oh dude..not siesta. the broken pier is where its at. I winched there with Nick Taylor and everyone was amazing and no one complained or anything. I dont know if you know where it is, but its by the village on the road where rocketman used to be. Pretty sick little spot with some old break waters and an old pier. You can tie the winch right into the pier, works perfectly. Hit me up some time dude.

That's a Released Winch Co frame. If you aren't too sure about that design they have a few other styles to choose from. If you talk to Chris he might be able to get you a better deal on that frame or a different one. PM me or Released(Chris) if you have any questions or want to see the other frame designs.

This is the most popular frame. Powder coating is also available if you do not like the polished.

Just to answer the original question: I'm sure someone could build it for less, but that person will need some metal working skills. Even if you find the skills, you will have a hard time getting it much cheaper with the price of aluminum right now. If you pay someone to build it, they will charge a premium to weld aluminum. Probably the hardest part of building an aluminum tube frame is finding someone who will bend aluminum tubing (it will be harder than you would think).

Thanks,

Ken Land
