they work great under your shoes. you stay really warm. my feet almost dont get wet

i never use a hood but this one looks really good but you might not need 3mm

for gloves i have the slx 3mm

I think my oneill booties are 2mm, and I wear shoes over them. I just picked up a pair of rip curl 1.5mm gloves for tomorrow. we'll see how they work out. I didn't want something to thick cause I didn't want to effect my grip to much. They feel like they will work good.

Yes I rode two days ago without a suit. Yes When it is cold enough I wear a 3/2. So Yes, Move to Florida and you might have to wear a wetsuit..........a month out of the year. That is my cold water gear.

JB_CANSKATE, the kevlar grip is going to be waaay too thick. you will hate it. dont go bigger then 1.5mm or else it is awkward to ride.

yeah, 3mm sounds so nice and warm, but it's pretty freakin tough to hold onto the handle for any length of time. Russian said his 1.5 neo gloves were awesome, though. Might have to try those next time.

Ozurk, with a good 4/3 full suit you'll be able to ride in some pretty damn frigid waters. If you're gonna be riding in water colder than 50 degrees, you're gonna want to get some nice neoprene gloves, a hoodie and some 3mm wetsuit socks, though. The coldest water I've personally ridden in was 42 degrees, and was fine wearing a drysuit. Today the water was 47 degrees and wakemitch, russian and myself were all more than stoked to be out on the water. We were all wearing booties, drysuits and testing out some new wetsuit gloves, though. Basically, if the water is in liquid form, it's ridable. You just have to be properly prepared for it.

JB_CANSKATE, nice i got out around the same time last year too, it was cold tho.

I wouldn't go less than 3mm maybe even 4mm or 5mm for those really icy days. I got a 3mm wet suit and my next one is going to be 5mm. I don't think some realize what we canuks ride in...











... and yes there is snow in the bottom of the ditch under the water for a nice surprise when your trying to get out after a fall

I rode yesterday in Oregon with my drysuit (three upper layers, and two lower layers under the suit), with the 3mm oneill socks, 3mm hood, and the SLX 3mm gloves. The SLX work great for me, ive used them for two years now. the "3MM PSYCHO DL GLOVE" is way too thick for a boat sesh, I couldnt really hold onto the handle with them. They are warmer than the slx's though. I'd recommend them if you are winching, since you wont be riding for long periods of time like you would on a boat.

Ive tried the flx's they were too thin. they were so thin that after one winch sesh they wore out.. lots of holes in the fingers = frozen hands.

Ive tried almost every glove oneill has, those are the best. they dont really feel that thick to me. They wear out faster than they should, but i'm pretty sure these were only thought to be used by surfers. when small wear out holes appear I just put some oneill neoprene repair glue on them, and they are good as new.

As for suits, I have the 07/08 oneill psycho II 4/3 w/zen and also the oneill boost drysuit. The drysuit beats the in warmth, easily.. and on those super cold days the drysuit is the only way to go. but the psycho wins in the looks department.
