I think it's because he has a license to plunder.

I will say that no vote was taken--I simply changed his name without asking for said license.

and just to clarify, I got that line from the history channel, because they were talking about the "real" pirates of the caribbean (sp).

Good question. I'm not Russian. It's a nickname, with a long story attached. When I started coming onto wake forums so many moons ago I couldn't come up with a better handle Laughing

so I used my nickname.
