Who is this and what skate is he riding? A J-star Gate? It looks like the Hyperlite Gate with J-star (Jobe) graphics. Anyone knows more?

it definitely is lovett, but how he put jobe graphics on a hyperlite, is't that false advertising, because it really isnt a jobe board. to answer your question Paul Collin Wright rides for West Coast Wakeskates. In a wakeboarding mag article/lovett interview about the Asterisk video shoot lovett says Hyperlite is "hooking him up" and ive seen other pics of lovett riding the gate too, so i guess it is anyones guess.

Hype and Jobe are under the HO sports conglameration or whatever you want to call it.....so it's probably easier for them to throw lovett onto the gate (or is it J-star all of a sudden?) with Jobe graphics, making him the only wakeskater on Jobe, rather than be behind Grubb, Byerly and B. Thomas on Hype.

you know hyperlite owns jobe, mabey there making skates now and he is riding for them but they dont have a board out so theyre just using the gate for now, but i dont know. your guess is as good as mine

lovett rides for J-Star. he is riding a gate for the same reasons that weatherall and santori ride w/ parks bindings.

I heard somewhere (Its probably just a rumour) that J-Star are gonna have a Gate type deck in there line. That could be what he's riding there.

Becuase all the J-Star bindings are not very good, the only good one I think is the Lyman. It's just a copy of the Byerly's anyway. And since HO owns Hyperlite, J-Star, etc... it doesn't really matter.(At least thats what I think)

RUSSIAN, i dont know for sure, but the first ad for them was in the latest alliance wake mag and it had a full page of their riders and said "J-Star."

Lyman was riding a prototype of his J-Star binding back in the 2003 Malibu open. and yes, it said "J-Star" on the boa knob...i'll see if i can dig up a pic...

im not sure of hyperlite and J-star's relationship, but i DO know that they are related in some sort of way (whether its hyperlite that owns them or HO or what), and so the riders ride hyperlite gear...

was it santori that rode an era shape w/ different graphis last year in the comps? im pretty sure i saw someone doing that at the Malibu open.
