What do you guys think a skate should weigh?
i'm thinking just at 6lbs. with fins and grip...
the reason why i'm asking is i'm fine tuning the Integrity skates and i wanted to get an idea of what the community thinks/wants.

I like my skate heavy, I'd say in the 8 pound range. I have a liquid farce 4 took that was a little light. luckily they didn't make it well enough to not delam so I have plenty of wood screws and extra epoxy to make it heavier. The board seems to keep it's momentum better on shuvit tricks and doesn't blow away on w2w.

I like the 7pounds area of my Cassette. I'm not sure of the weight of the HL decks, but I found them a little too light.

A would like a mix in weight between a Cassette Concave 41 and a Cassette 4-track 42. (Don't know how much they weight.)

Not sure of the exact weight, but I like my decks to feel very solid and a little weighty. I can't stand the weight of HL decks. They feel like they'll blow away in the breeze.

Do you guys realize that a wakeskate manufacturer is on this message board asking your opinions on how they should build their wakeskates? How cool is that?

Some of you may think I am partial to Integrity because they are one of our advertisers, but I am totally blown away that Schmaltz has come on here to ask you guys for your input.

What a brilliant idea Erich! To get input from the very same people that will be buying the product. Genius!!!!!

And to give my input, I prefer a skate to be on the heavy side. Probably somewhere around 6 to 7 lbs. My biggest complaints about composite boards so far is that they are too light.

I can't wait to ride one of these decks.

Dave, yes, it's a brilliant idea, but the question is not easy to answer.
The manufacturers rarely disclose the weight of their skates and, since I don't have a precision balance, I don't know the weight of my skate. Plus, I guess that the weight has to be related to the size (lenght and width).

I have a LF concave 43' and I think that its momentum is perfect for shuvits but it's a bit too heavy for acid drops and probably for kickflips (even if I haven't tried kickflips yet).
Haha Laughing , as I said, I'm confused... Rolling Eyes
Anyway, assuming that the first Integrity skates will be 41' or 42', my vote goes for the "6lbs. range" (maximum).

Erich, what is the weight of the new deck?
I really can't answer the question because I have no clue what the weight is of any of the boards I have ridden. All I can say is that I don't like a board to feel to light, I need it to feel like it's going to stay under my feet and not blow away. That's a pretty stock answer Laughing Laughing

the ones you rode with me were at 6.85lbs. but we could make them at 3lbs. the trick is to add the weight now... when it use to be the other way around. So the new decks will be just over 6lbs. It just depends on what testing this next week will show us.

Somewhere between 6 and 7 is perfect. You need enough weight for w2w and shuvs, etc. so the board can maintain momentum and keep it from moving too much in the wind. On the other hand if it is too heavy it makes acid drops/finger flips harder. Also, anyone who rides cable can appreciate a lighter skate cause you have to carry the thing around all day. Sounds like the decks are gonna be the perfect weight.

i hate being used to hype skates length and using the cm measurements stead of inches. like what would 112 be in inches?

1 in = (roughly) 2.54 cm

So about 44 inches.
