you should be fine, what i learned is that you have to extend your arms when starting and keep your butt to the board and dont try to get up right away until your body is fully out of the water. should have no problem. just keep saying to yourself "keep your butt to the board, butt to the board" cuz seriously i suck at getting up, but once im up i can shred so ya butt to the board! |

Here is one tip that always helps my friends. Once the ski begins pulling you try pushing your toes down so board is at 45* angle to the water rather than perpendicular. Rather than plowing the water the board will cut to the top. Hope that makes sense. |

Is arm strength a big portion of water starting?
Because I have trouble getting up if I'm starting from the water and I think it might because I'm not srtong enough.

I always tell friends to keep their elbows at the pit of their knees until you get up.. makes you stay in that squat position and the foot angle tip is a good one. |

just put your arms around your legs and like get in a ball and just stayed balled till you get up.
Then once you learn to get up there will be different ways you'll find out that may be a little quicker and stuff. |

Thanks guys, you're awesome.
I'm heading out on the water with Nick and a friend tomorrow. I'll try it all. I'll let you know how it goes.
