i have an older catalyst with some dude in a sombrero with a gun on the bottom of it...anyone know what year this board is?
i really like the board for w2w, but it's so light and floats so high that it's not the perfect board for me. does anyone know how this years model compares with the newer catalyst models?

ah, ah, AHHH...04.
Those "ahs" were supposed sound like me in my pre sneeze wind up.
It is lighter, it has sharp edges and a step down rail...the new ones will be heavier, wider and the concave looks much nicer (deeper, bro, like a chicago style pizza). There's also a bevel to prevent you from catching your edge. If you have the latest wbm (october) check out page 94. I just like that pic because you can see the base wear on brian's board and where the bevel is. I just dig it.

sweet. thanks guys. i definitely want to try out the newer ones if i have a chance sometime. i rode my friends control the other day, and the thing was just too heavy for me i guess (had taken on some water), so it sounds like the newer ones would fall somewhere in between the two.
