Hi guys, this is my first post on the forums, but I have been reading them regularly for months. Anyways my girlfriend and I just moved to the Jacksonville area, with winch in tow. My problem is we don't know anybody yet, and we don't know the area well, so we need some help finding decent winch spots. If any of you guys from jax know some decent ponds or specific spots on the beach, please post or PM me directions. Thanks guys |

JeffKnox, everyone in gainsville is too busy either studying or gloating over the gators to be riding a wakeskate _________________

NaRC-P rider, all they do is ride scooters around and wear matching polo's. my ex girlfriend lives there and i drive by the skatepark all the time and no one is ever in it. what a waste. |

I got a call the other day from Joey at Grinch winch and he said they just got the permits to build a permanent winch park at KONA. Other than that Im sure if you have your winch just start driving around and finding some sick spots. I know if you go down to Vilano beach in St. Augustine there will be plenty of kiddies there ready to get yanked into some good size shore pound. I will be up there next week for a skim contest and I know for a fact that will will be grinching up there and hucking ourselves or just myself straight to the hospital. _________________ Justin Boisclair

TAD, that is just a temporary park to my knowledge. They got permits to make a permanent park. I know about the one they have now. I believe that was just for the party they had and until they got permits approved. _________________ Justin Boisclair

big country is right. The initial winch park was set up on a sort of trial basis, and depending on how it was received at kona, they may or may not have been able to proceed with a permanent pool.
Obviously, things went well for joey, which is awesome. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Joey seemed pretty stoked about it. I told him I am going to come up and hit the rails on my skim in bare feet. He laughed and told me they have a good hospital up there. I guess the KONA guys were really stoked when they saw what an attraction it was. _________________ Justin Boisclair
