Did you know that Robot Food is expired Medicine? That is what Robots eat.
Thank god for Robot Food and thank god for Jussi and Travis for keeping things fun. I agree 100% about snowboarding now....it is all (a) Finish freaks of nature who can spin-to-win and Swedish kids that ride at Ricksgransen and are insane because of the midnight sun up there (b) french canadian street rail riders that have incredible balance because they failed out of Circ De Solei gymnastics school in Montreal. Seriously!!! _________________ Life's Kredo = "When the snake falls in love with the spagetti it's time to buy a new hat." & "I guess I need to whiskey up these corn flakes..and heroin up this Orange Juice." |

johnnyutah, I didn't know that it was expired medicine. I saw a commercial on saturday night live one time, and it had a robot eating an old lady's medicine...I don't think it was expired though.
But I had an idea that they did like medicine!
And that's why you need to watch yourself.
For when the robots come for you...
Yeah, I especially like travis. When he rode for k2 and was throwing his rodeo 7s or whatever, I thought he was a nerd (you know, typical kid mentality). But robot food brought out the bad in him, which was good (and of course I also mean bad as in good). _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

electricsnow i wouldn't say i am hating on grubb, some might think i am, but he needs to do different tricks, he has been doing the same tricks for a while.
the trick he does are really good and good looking and consistent but i just saying i would like to see somthing different out of him |

I know, there's just a more tactful way of stating things like that without getting everone up in arms about it. I would agree in that grubb hasn't progressed the same way as a reed hansen has progressed (as an example, there are many more like that), but he has added a few tricks to his bag, like his no grabbed wake to wake shuv in issue 5 and he did his first wake to wake 3 shuv on the human trailers trip (someone said he rode really well on that thing, so I'm looking forward to the footage).
I guess I'm not too inventive, but I don't know how many new tricks he's going to learn on a winching trip when all you have is the flats, a box and a massive gap. I dont' know how many days they had to film that and on top of it, I'm pretty sure he (grubb) had just gotten back from a trip...like singapore (sorry if that's wrong, but it was somewhere where his body clock would be all off) and then went right off to Canada. I'd probably want to crawl in a corner and sleep after that.
It's funny how we're only talking about grubb and not any of the other riders on that trip. Granted, grubb had the most footage, but still... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

Keep in mind that Grubby also flew in for this little chaos for less than 24 hrs. And did you see how many places we hit?? Let me give you all the run down on the timeline for this.
"With a working title of "Capital Chaos", the Ontario crew set off for
Ottawa armed with a winch and two Red Bull branded 24 foot rail boxes for
the wakeskaters to destroy. After arriving in the Nation's Capital with top
Ontario riders Jesse Page and Jono Boysen of the Muskoka Militia, we
scouted out potential locations and then picked up Red Bull wakeskater
Brian Grubb, who had flown in from Orlando. Brian had just returned from
Malaysia and was in Orlando for less than eight hours before heading North
to join us in Ottawa. To make things worse, Brian arrived with no luggage
as everything had been lost by the airline except for his board bag. It
turned out that he didn't need much more than that as he spent almost his
whole 24 hours in Ottawa on the water.
The crew started by hitting the famous Hogs Back Locks once Parks Canada
staff had finished for the day. We then moved on to set up the winch on the
patio of the Canal Ritz restaurant, an on-premise account situated on the
famous Rideau Canal. Both locations drew huge crowds that cheered the
riders on.
The big mission was the next day with an early set-up time of 4:30 am in
order to beat security on the Canal beneath the Parliament Buildings. By
5:15 am Brian Grubb made history by stomping a frontside boardslide shuv-it
on the rail, with the famous Canadian landmark as his backdrop.
With only one close call from security, the crew then moved on to skate
along the canal in front of Lansdowne Stadium, in a pond found in the
affluent 'Glebe' neighborhood, and then wrapped it up in style when Grubb
pushed the limits of wakeskating by riding away from a drop over an
enormous 12-foot spillover just in time to catch his flight home. No time
to relax for 'Grubby' though as it was a quick touch down in Orlando before
taking off for his next stop in Texas...even before his luggage eventually
got found and delivered to his Orlando home. Thanks to Brian for joining in
the 'Chaos' and to the Muskoka Militia for helping make it happen!"
that timeline for grubby in itself is narly. |

It seems the Texas Reed Gap from 5 years ago still stands as the biggest wakeskate gap. His w2w kicky was not to shabulous either. _________________ dbanana wrote:

jonnyUTAH and electricsnow I totally agree old snowboard videos rules, but there are some really good ones every year, last year the video "patchwork patterns", brought back the fun to me, difference is - small funny shizzel and not perfekt huge spin to win moves. Also the films from mickey leblanc are great "love & hate" or "burning bridges" - destroy your city
so back to wakeskating ... style is diffenent thats all, fat style, technical style, easy style, sketchy style ....
I like the video footage from the gap, RESPECT
