|
|
i just bought a 4'X8' sheet of 1/2 inch birch, my original intentions were to make some skimboards, but recently i stumbled upon this site and was like "hey, i wanna do that" and my main questions are is 1/2 inch thick enough, and if not, would a couple coats of epoxy and urethane toughen it up enough. im only a beginner so im not expecting to get nearly as much air as i do on my wakeboard and im thinking that it should do.
also, if someone could post a couple pictures of their rocker, gimmie an idea |

Check out the thread "how to make a wakeskate" or "My First Homemade Wakeskate." Everyone uses 1/8 inch wood and glues about 3-5 layers together and bends while the glue is wet to make the rocker. _________________ "It's like there's not enough pants where there need to be more pants." |

yeah its definatly thick enough
make sure you soak it a long time tho, we tried making some out of a sheet of 1/2 forever ago and we didnt wait long enough so it wouldnt bend
yeah you can use polyurthane to coat it so it keeps the rocker
just make sure you give it more rocker than you think, because it might bend back _________________ http://www.stickandflick.com
