Prayer is a reminder to all levels of your conciousness of what you sincerely want. Whether it be for yourself or for someone else, it has a large impact on the turnout. Quieting all extraneous thought and focusing on that which you truly want and reminding yourself for what you are truly thankful is a very healthy habit.
Jonah 1:12, I really enjoy being around involved Christian families, they always seem to have priorities dialed and always seem to enjoy life. I can imagine the spirit your family has. Keep it alive _________________ √ |

JeffKnox, i'm gonna start training for it now.... i suggest we make it a tradition to wrangle one gator everytime someone gets injured.... we can use the blood from the injury to lure the gators... _________________

I'd call it more a form of meditation (real meditation, not incense and humming). Just complete focus of conciousness and thought, and silencing all the useless chattering that your mind does. In that state, you find what's important, what you should just let go, you understand why you act the way you do, and when your mind is open like that, all kinds of good ideas can come to you.
Some call it an inspiration from God. Since I believe I am/we are our own God, I'd say they are right. We are not what we seem, we are not just bodies walking around waiting to die. We are unkillable, unharmable spiritual beings who have chosen these lifetimes to do with them what we want. We experience them like a movie, for fun and for learning, and when we learn what we came here to learn, scene out and we're done. Some people like horror movies, some like comedies. Everyone loves a little bit of drama and almost no one wants to be so bored as to have no problems in life. Advancing in our understanding and our conciousness, we become more advanced as beings. Learn yourself, never ignore yourself, and find that true voice inside your soul. You might think it's God, and that works for some people, but it's you. You write your own story. Maybe not on a concious level yet, but start working on it. I could go for days explaining it, but I figure I learned a little bit about Christianity from this thread, so if you guys have any questions, throw them at me.

Then why is life so out of control? Do we choose when we will die or as you say leave this movie? Are you in complete control of your life?
You are not a God and never will be! |

It's never out of control, we made it that way in the beginning. You come here to get caught up in it and to feel that excitement, otherwise it would be like going to a movie and knowing everything that's going to happen right before it does. Boring.
Part of me is in complete control of my life, my real self, not this body you see wakeskating and such. But that part knows I will enjoy it more and learn more if I let myself live it through like I intended. I'm just going to watch and enjoy the movie instead of sitting in the theatre criticizing about how unrealistic it is. I wrote the story, but know I'm living it out frame by frame, minute by minute.

Any principle that requires admiration is as unrealistic as a God that requires worship. _________________ √ |

che blanc, have you heard of something called the SECRET?
http://thesecret.tv/
It basically says you can be your own god, I thought you might know something about it.
One question: Why would you consider yourself a god? |

I haven't seen that, but from the looks of the homepage, it seems a little built-up. As a general rule, simplicity works, but I will watch that when I have a little more time.
I would never walk around declaring myself a god, I just happen to know that I control every part of my life and my world. Not on a concious level yet, but it's all there. And if I listen to the right voices and inclinations, I can accomplish anything that I want, physically impossble or not. One day, when I figure it out, I will walk on water, walk through walls, stay underwater for days at a time, turn lakes glassy for the multitudes of wakeskaters , heal the sick, turn water to gatorade, and never go hungry, thirsty, or without gasoline again. And I will use it to make this little blue planet better. _________________ √ |
