Arts and Crafts with the Raven (yo)!!

So a few days ago the Raven wanted to send me some pics of his newly refurbished 04 aaron reed cassette wakeskate (though he didn't say what sort of artwork he applied to the base). Originally, the board was purchased blank on ebay. A prompt attempt to restore this board to its (not her) original state of glory commenced, and the raven did a fine job (see fig. 1).

But this was the original work. What came to follow blew my mind and I only wish that it was a real graphic on an actual wakeskate. Unfortunately, the art lasted less than a day, as it wore off in response to some heavy shredding (if you've seen the raven hit it up from inside out, you know he's merciless, and you thank your lucky stars every night that you're not wake to be slammed through or a board to be landed upon). But I was told that the sight of this board as a kickflip rotated beneath was pure bliss.

It's all about letting him fly. Sometimes you don't realize you are condeming your shuvs, condeming your kickflips. Ya know she'll only fly as high as you let her, so sometimes I take a step back and try and be a little more hands off and let her do her thing. I like to soften my feet a bit. Pegasus is a reminder that the wakeskate needs to be cut loose. yeah you can go big off the wake......but are you going big where you and you're big head are up in the clouds, or are you staying low and allowing the skate to soar the skies. Sometimes I find if I think too much, I'm too much in my head and that causes me to go high and the skate barely leaves the water and I wreck. If you can become aware of the feeling and soul of wakeskating and tap into that.....that sensuality, that intimacy, that is when things happen...in slow motion, and that is how i like it.

i didn't want you all to think i fell asleep on ya.....

here is some stuff

homemade handle......i figured i'd have a back up ready. a good green one.

and i made a lil rail with an old ladder from under the deck

lastly i put this lil climbing wall up in the garage to keep me in shape for bigspins........as u can see i got a lil carried away with the gray paint Rolling Eyes
