"Hello John
Thank you for your e-mail..........there are some very important question's
that I will answer with honesty..........
Erick Schmaltz was supposed to run Mutiny, but "QUIT".....he was not a team
member; his job was to run the company. The company has been building
Skateboards for 30yrs and Snowboards for 16yrs.The company has build
Skateboards for Tony Hawk since he was 12 and we continue building his
boards till this date.We have built boards for almost all the pro's in
Skateboarding; Snowboarding and
Wakeskate.........for 12 yrs........And about your prices on Wakeskate; we
will be able to ship your board C.O.D via UPS..Let me know if you are still
interested in purchasing...Provide me with an address for shipping.
Thank You
Robert Dykema

I don't think anyone ever said that schmaltz was dropped by mutiny. I was always under the impression that he left...which must have been hard to do, since mutiny has been his baby since 98-ish.
So just for clarification, you bought one of the hijacked mutiny's? If so, I'm surprised there wasnt' anything else out there that suited your taste...
For whatever reason, the name at the end of that e-mail sounds familiar...I don't know why... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| pavement, did you stop to question the reasons why Erich "quit". It is hard to run a company a dagger in your spine. And great, the manufacturer makes Tony Hawk's skateboards. Well lets just see how good this guy can design wakeskates on his own. I am willing to bet the old man has never even thought about riding a wake skate. |

wakeriderof87, ya I have tried grip tape and I just.. I dunno, I just don't like it, with the foam I feel like I have a better grip of the board, like it sticks to my feet, I like how my feet sink into it a little bit. Grip tape just feels... I dunno, I feel like my feet slide arround more on the grip tape, not to mention everytime I ride with grip tape I end up cutting my shins up, which doesn't bother me that much, it just gets kinda old. I dunno, I guess I'm wierd but I love foam grip. _________________ Thrive

Tony was in the Bones Brigade riding for Powell Peralta when he was 12 and is now riding for Birdhouse. Is he saying that he's been making powell and birdhouse boards all this time. they're 2 diffferent companies. Saying he has made skateboards for almost all pros, wtf? i've been skateboarding for 8 years and have never heard of mutiny in the skateboard scene, only in wakeskating. Correct me if i'm wrong. _________________ the tap - crailtap.com

"companies like Cassette, Kampus, and Integrity are trying desperatly to keep it real in an industry that wants to mass produce garbage made in china and sell it to you at Costco"
I could be wrong but I thought I remmber hearing Cassette shizzle is made in Taiwan. I still buy their stuff, but was just curious... _________________ ::The Endless Summer 05::

| I can't speak for Thomas or Cassette but, from what i understand those connections were established when Cassette and LF had ties. Cassette has decks made in the states now... from what Thomas has told me. I'm not trying to speak for him or explain his business practices. |

Schmaltz, great post man. It's refreshing to see you come on here and defend yourself and your vision.
"companies like Cassette, Kampus, and Integrity are trying desperatly to keep it real in an industry that wants to mass produce garbage made in china and sell it to you at Costco... so if you don't give a damn, then go shop at hot-topic..."

jerry, I dont think he was directing that at you. It seems more like it's a general you.
Why are you worried, do you shop at hot topic? KIDDING!! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

no not you Jerrysk8... Sorry, thats a touchy subject for me.
Our molds should be finished 4-23-04
so once protos are tested and given the thumbs up, we should be producing early to mid next week... so we could be ready to ship May 1st.
it's just a matter of fine tuning now, so give or take a week... |
