|

Ok, since I rec'd my Maven for mother's day (we have 2 dogs...no kids but celebrate nonetheless). Anyway, Todd has loved riding the skate and I would love to get him a wakeskate for Father's day. He is 220 and 6'0". He is a fairly aggressive rider on wakeboarding and surfing and has done about the same amount of wakeskating that I have (we are beginners).
I have read so much about Integrity skates, so I am leaning towards that but not really sure what to get him. Any help is much appreciated from you all...and where can I buy it???
Thanks! |

The Oak Team Machine or the Sattelyte Heartbreaker or Engenn would probably be a good fit. If heis a good wakeboarder, he may be more at home on a Hyperlite skate, like the Grubb or Catalyst 2.0. Maybe check out the new Vinyl.
Good luck. |

You may have trouble getting your hands on a Sattelyte or Integ by Father's Day. If I had to recommend something for someone that size in that time frame, I'd say go with either an LF Impulse Reed 42" or Oak Molder's Blow (42"). But that's just me. _________________ Life is short - live every day to its fullest. |

wakechick, In my opinion the integ is a very agressive skate, so in that sense it seems like a good choice. Not to mention it's proven durability and performance. It's a pretty high-dollar skate though and i'm not sure how much you're willing to spend, but like Vince said i'm pretty sure there's one in the Classifieds. If he likes the maven, he may also like LF Impulses, but of course there are other great wood concaves out there like Oak and Sattelyte. I've never ridden a Satt. but i really love Oaks. Another skate that rides pretty agressively is the Hyperlite Catalyst 2.0 (or last years Byerly). It's pretty light and has insanely deep concave.
Those are my suggestions. Hope they helped

This does help guys...I am looking at classifieds as I write...keep them coming...I just know he is alot more aggressive than I am. He used to skate board. PS: Last time he was on a real wakeskate (aside from the Maven) it include a trip to the ER. |

Thanks Vince...I did see those...I think they might be too small??
If it helps he rides a 52 - 58" wakesurfers and a 142 wakeboard |

Bump...ok, he really wants the integ...and is now leaning towards the Nick Taylor after seeing him ride last weekend.
How do I make this happen. He has gotten me all the boards I wanted this summer from my maven to a "gulp" new surf board...so I want to get this bad for him... |

| my dad is about the same size, 6 foot 210/15 and he likes my omen more than integ. i think the impulse would also be a good choice, somethings that sits in the water rather than a sketchy integ (my lemons is my favorite board but ive been skating for a while, not exactly a beginner board) maybe a legacy or vinyl? |

The largest oak board would be an awesome choice or the legacy 41 those are both boards that will last and feel great under the feets. I'm getting hooked up with a legacy here shortly and I love the rocker line and concave of this board.
TNT 41........flame me all you want but if I was a rich man I would buy this board just to keep. It has the best graphic of all time and I love having it cruise the water underneath me. I have the 39 and I just learned w2w on it. The moment in the air between the wakes on this board defines wakeskating for me. |

hmmm, see to me on my "limited" knowledge (the research I have done has largely been within this forum and the dealer sites)...so I don't think that is "limited".
I think Omen or Integ are the way for him to go. And based on how he rides it will need to be something that can get as aggressive as he wants. Both Omen and Integ have very good reputations and feedback from everyone too. He is being indecisive... Please correct my thinkin' by your opinions...I do want to know if I am wrong...
Lemme see if I can talk him about the Omen again, Candyman...because I may take u up on that! |

The legacy feels retarded under my feets. I seriously felt like a midget on that board
