|
|
Ive always rode a light-set board (integrity) and when ever i ride a heavy board it seems hard to shuv, or different at least like it takes different technique to shuv it. but theres something i like about a little more weight... i guess i would always go with a lighter board but i dont know what it is about a heavier skate and if i should try getting used to one...
any way, which do you guys prefer, lighter or heavier and why? maybe i just need something in the middle...
Is the maven heavy-set when riding? if any one knows.. _________________

| Most people like a board with a little more weight to it. I have an old cassette that's just over 6 pounds and I also have a oak that's over 8. I dont really find a huge difference. I think as long as you're over about 6 pounds its fine. |

i ride a bi level. i used to ride a cassette TK. i found that i had more control with my tricks when ridin my bi. i also found that tricks like w2w shuvs are easier with a heavier board cos they don get affected by the wind... basically i think that heavier boards are less responsive and therefore more predictable... _________________ ripped riders yah? |

I normally ride a GB Drew Mcgoo or my buds LF maven. Yesterday I rode an Integrity and liked it a lot. I think it takes all kinds folks. I also think that over time people will acquire a few different boards, a quiver if you will. They will ride everything depending on the conditions and what they are feeling at the time. Hell my buddy was tearing it up on a skim board yesterday. _________________ - Mead-Hall |

I recently switched from an Integrity NT 41 to a catalyst 2.0, I am really liking the heavier / bulkier feel of the 2.0 for both w2w and shuvs. _________________ Bindings? We don't need no freaking bindings.... |

yea my omen weighs more than my GEGE and i love it becuse its shorter and wider. I had the 05 integ team deck and absol. loved the durabililty of it but hated how light it was. _________________ Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for. |

| i own a 39 tnt and an 06 byerly and have preferred the tnt over the byerly because i can spin the board better and i just love the feel. the only time i really ride the byerly is on more windy days. but then again i've been alittle bias toward my tnt just cause the more i ride it the better i feel on it. |

method mike...good theory. I like a heavier board, and the maven is heavier.
The wind is tricky sometimes, and if you play the wind you gotta play to win! _________________ dbanana wrote:

i love any board over 10 lbs, the weight (imo) makes it super consistant and very predictable. It might rotate slower but you can spot it nice and find that consistant kick or flick for each trick. I have never had a problem with my board in windy conditions and I am fully for heavy boards. _________________ Helium - Devotid Wakeskates - Anarchy Eyewear |
