the violent femmes, anberlin, wolf parade, wolfmother, kaiser chiefs, muse, and sparta are some good ones. if you need some new crunk music immortal technique and saigon both spit fire.

Here's a few:

Burden Brothers (Toadies front man's new band);
The Exit (regae/rock);
Alkaline Trio (punk/rock);
Damone (rock with chick singer);
Plain White T's (punk);
The Stereo (rock);
Superdrag (rock);
Grade (metal);
Old 97's (alt country/rock);
The Shins (indie/alternative);
Silversun Pickups (sounds like early smashing pumpkins with chick singer)
Sunny Day Real Estate (can't go wrong with the early stuff - 'Diary' or 'rising tide'

The Deadly Syndrome. I suggest this for everyone. I saw them in December with The Faint, and I haven't stopped listening to them since. You can download a bunch of free songs off of their website, also. http://www.thedeadlysyndrome.com
