HAHAHAHAHa.....

Holy sha-it, how faw-ked up are Japanese Schools!!! The crazy thing was that I taught high school students, and I was only like 4 years older than seniors, so we used to go smoke in the bathrooms together at lunch...hahahaha, for serious. I was the worst teacher ever...hahahahahahahahahahah.

I hade to write the entire class year's curriculum, so my students would text message me the night before the exams for anwers. I made them work for their "hints," but if they could text message me in English, I would help them out.

The best thing was that I got to write the oral exams....I used to make fun of my friends in the oral exam, i.e, I would write something like: "Brandon Livermore is a massive homo who wears flowered shirts..."

Question....."True or False - Brandon is a massive homo?" TRUE!!!!!

Man o man.....teaching is a fine art!!! Thanks...those clips made me laugh and cry a bit of nestalgia....

Hahahahaha! Laughing

I would sorta prefer being an ALT to what I'm doing, which is ekaiwa. (sp?) But the JET programme only takes people from English speaking countries, so....

Sometimes I hate the business side of it, you have to be so effin niiiice all the time so the students will wanna to come back and pay us more money.Evil or Very Mad But yeah, sometimes I do laugh at them when they read Hamburger instead of Harrisburg and stuff like that... Ages vary from 5 to 74...

Apparently the guy who's trying to speak english is a japanese painter/artist and, according to my japanese co-worker, "a bit strange".

yes.....being an ALT is a million times better than ekaiwa. You "work" 9 to 5 and only teach 3 classes a day -- at most!! I would read in between classes, go shoot hoops (basketball) in the gym...and a few times, when I was really bored, I would pretend to be sick and go sleep for 3 hours in the nurses office....hahah serious!!!! If I had wireless Internet access at my school.....game over!!!

Teaching foreigners Engrish is an experience every person should go through at least once. At the very least, it will force you to develope a good sense of humour and to never take ANYTHING too seriously.

Yep....you are in for a wild time. That's all I can say.

I loved my students. Work was Crasy insanity. Life was nuts.....but it was the best experience ever. Good luck!!

Yep, heard about the working hours for ALTs. Sounds a tiny bit better than 12-9am... And the pay is about the same, as far as I've heard. I'm enjoying teaching, though. A lot of the students are really friendly and fun. Kids are kinda fun too, I have some 7-9 year-olds, a couple of teeenagers etc. Not to mention the smartest 5 year-old ever! She's just so clever, and if you ever look up kawaii in a dictionary, there's a pic of her, I swear!

Might look inte so ALT thing later on, because apparently nowadays there are a few companies that schools can hire from, not only the JET programme, like it used to be a couple of years ago. So we'll see what happens. I guess you didn't have to wear a suit every day either... Also, I have a master's in mechanical engineering, so I'd like to get into the engineering business sometime in the future...

Going down to Chiba over Goluden Weeku. I'm learning to surf. Just bought a board!

Sayoonara!
