yeah I agree I personally dont care if a kid is out having fun and doesnt pop his stuff. but if your representing the sport as a whole doing stuff right is the way to go, I mean look at skateboarding. When was the last time you saw a skate video with a 9inch flatbar in a driveway its not that you cant do alot of little tricks on it, its that how much more respect do you give them doin stuff on a handrail. And as far as claiming a trick for the first time it should be legit (not to sound like a jerk). my three flip was on a fully loaded VLX with the wedge down at 72 rope. wouldnt it be way less cool on an empty ski boat at 50 feet?

I dont think it would make it Less Cool, i just think riding behind a loaded VLX makes it COOLER... Either way you would have done it would be bomb.... But doing it behind that Just adds a cherry on top know what I'm saying ???

But i think the opposite side to that handrail argument is this. Ever seen Cheese and Crackers ? Would that stuff have been cooler if it was done on a 12' Pipe ? Probably not..... And in-fact I know I wouldn't have watched it......(i'm just being difficult and i agree with everything your saying.)

i think there's a way to do everything right if thats what your going for.....

BUT i think that there are wayyy to many kids trying to keep up with the Tricks that alot of them have lost sight of whats important.... Fun and Style....

that cheese and crackers stuff may or may not have been cooler on a half pipe, but it would have been gnarlier. And that's what aggressive wake to wake riding is--filthy stinking gnarly (look at thomas horrell's wake to wake frontside shuv in decline, and look at how freaking long his rope is and the gap he had to clear). It's like comparing the first wake to wake kickflip (that was done with a shorter line and smaller wake...and with less height) to the ones dudes are doing today, like nick's in issue 4. It's a different world, riders are stepping it up and standards are elevated.

The point I'm taking from all of this is professionalism. The average dude on the lake can learn whatever trick he wants in whatever order he wants, and he really wouldn't have to give a poo about style. But if you are going to be representing your sport...it will come down to style. It may not fully be that way today (especially watching some stuff in some videos), but I can see that there are certain riders that pride themselves on that, which is awesome and that's going to step up the level of riding even faster.

havin fun and makin shizzle up, which i belive is the true meaning of
