conwest, the angle of the board makes it look like a blunt but angle has nothing to do with it. nose blunt vs. noseslide is like comparing boardslides and lipslides. with blunts the "truck" is on the outside of the rail with noseslides/tailslieds the "truck" is on the same side that you approached it from.

Kay-Kay, i skateboard so i know the difference between noseslides and blunts and lipslides and boardslides. To me it just looked more like a noseblunt then a noseslide. But im done arguing i dont want any hate directed my way. It was so sick anyways though. He held that up so nice the whole time Very Happy

dude,
Reed is really stepping up the sport. Every time I see this guy he is killing it. I think I need to skate with this fool.
Also, I have a Revolt and think that would be sick to yank some of that shizzle out.

P.S. That clearly is a nose blunt. His board was over 45 degrees. you know the rules. Nose slides don't make the board angle up like that Laughing

no its definitely a noseslide.

I hate arguing about trick names but i thought wakeskaters felt more of a connection with skateboarding than strappers and actually had an understanding of what tricks were and where they came from.

You guys are talking about the last trick of the video right? I was under the impression that was a noseblunt for sure. This same debate was brought up a while back when aaron gore posted some vid's on here.

If your not going to call it a nose blunt seems like the next closest thing would be a nose press, not a nose slide, oh well.

canalskater, wow thank you. Kay-Kay, you say that we should know all of the skateboard tricks and apply them to wakeskating but your are definitely not doing that at all. If you still think its a noseslide i cant really help you man. The truck would be sliding on the ledge if the board had one. Do you see it now??

i've watched the video quite a few times now just to make sure im not crazy. I've seen that exact trick done on a skateboard. My friend called it a noseslide done blunt style but it is still a nose slide.

See what happens is that normally do a nose slide on the side of the ledge that is closest to you but in the video he ollies over it and slides the opposite side of the "ledge." Some ledges dont have two edges or don't have two edges that are close enough to do this type of slide, this is what makes the trick unique and is the cause of the confusion.

I don't know how to clear this up for you guys cuz i think there is some confusion as to what a noseblunt really is. A nose blunt has nothing to do with the angle of the board. If you took a picture of a skateboarder doing a noseblunt on a rail you would most likely not be able to tell the difference between a noseblunt and a nose slide. Its comparable to the difference between boardslides and lipslides. Like with lipslides, on a noseblunt your tail goes over the ledge, noseslides are just like boardslides except you are sliding on the nose rather than center of the board.

Last time i watched the video i checked this to make sure. the rail is set up to be hit frontside for regular stance, if he were to do a noseblunt he would be sliding facing forward(like with a front lip) but he is sliding backwards as if he did a front board or a front noseslide. regardless of what it should be called it looks sick. I've pretty much said all i can about the trick and will defer to e-snow for clarification.

It's a frontside noseslide, it just looks blunt because of how high the tail is.
