hey whats going on guys. worst thing happened saturday morning. first couple pulls behind the ski. just landed 2 popshuvs in a row so i thought i go for the gold and throw a 3 shuv. front foot landed perfectly backfoot landed in the water. and we all know what happens from there.

i twist/bent my knee soo bad. this was the worst pain of my life. i rolled underwater yelling for a couple minutes. i got on the ski and couldnt move my leg. my knee would not bend. i could put no weight on it. went and set on the dock for a couple hours. started to feel better then it started to swell up huge. i can feel what i think is a huge bubble of blood on the outside of my knee where their should be a muscle.

today i could finally walk again but if i step wrong it feels like my knee just gives out and it hurts so bad. i dont know what to do. i have no insurance. im going to just keep doing the old hot and cold method and rubbing ben gay all over it as well lol. i took a bunch of ibprofen to reduce swelling as well.

whats the chances that something is torn. i can bend my knee but hardly doesnt hurt to walk just hurts if step weird oh and i was wakesurfing today lol so it cant be too bad. i just got to keep praying this isnt going to end my season before it even started

DirtyCracker, go to the hospital...and stop riding. you dont want to perminately injure it.

all i can suggest is rest man. I landed on my ankle skateboarding really akwardly and i skated the next day even though it hurt. I ended up hurting it again and i tore a ligament in it that time. Just dont go to extreme on it and it should heal up eventually. You might want to get x rays if you possibly can. I hope the best for you man.

ScottyB, ya ya i know im done riding for this week for sure lol. if no improvement by tomorrow afternoon im defiantly going to the hospital i guess. try to get my parents to float me some cash

You know man as much as i want to tell you youll be ok i dont think so, it sounds to me like a tendon, maybe a mcl, if it doesnt hurt to put pressure on it but if you step wierd. That was what mine was like when i tore it. Also the ability to still ride doesnt mean your ok. I rode for 6 months on a blown knee. so i hope your fine but i would go see a doctor for sure

ya thanks guys im just going to go tomorrow i guess if something torn it just be better to get it diagnosed now and get it over with. pretty much ruins all my plans for this season if something is torn. been riding so much and now for this to happen just sucks. so much progression then a brick wall ha

guess ill have to just be a fat sack on someone boat all summer greeatttt

Go buy insurance. my last surgery cost 15K just for the OR for and hour. Shts expensive

No heat! just cold for joint injuries and swelling. I'm afraid you've got blood in that joint, that's what swelling is....been there, blew my acl/mcl wakeboarding.

ya soo come to find out im still on my dads insurance for now so that was good news.

they took xrays and looked at it. xrays can just look at the bones and everything is fine with that i could have told them that. they put my knee in a imobilizer and gave me some anti swelling and pain pills. told me to put no weight on it for next 3 days. so im stuck at home with the leg in the air. at least i got some crutches to play around on.

if in 3 days doesnt improve i have to get a mri to look at the tendons/ligaments. the doctor felt around and she said it doesnt seem like anything is torn but theres no way to tell without a mri. so im just going to do what she said and take it real easy i just hope theres nothing torn.

JamesBoardr, ya man wakesurfing was off the chain so much fun. if my knee gets better we got ride real early saturday and sunday morning before lake gets crowded and then maybe do some more wakesurf afterwards

dude we all have pulled one of the those numbers some worse then others, i did a w2w indy and my back foot just fell off on the landing, and my leg bent up so far my foot was like in my ear. it sucked. i stretched my medial ligament... and it sucked, dont worry man youll heal up, but go see a professional, and walk with crutchs, DONT take the chance of long term damage.

DirtyCracker, maybe for a while but you dont want those muscles to get weak. im down for some more wakesurfing. i rode SOOO good today because of the surfing. started sticking switch shuvs left and right, w2w 180, reentry 3, fs big all in one run

I would suggest a knee brace for a while until it feels real good. Maybe say 95% or so. The last thing you want to do would be to twist it again before it's all healed. That could cause worse damage than what has already happened and it will also be easier for you to injure it again since it's already weak. Good luck and I hope you're able to get some good riding out of this season.

JamesBoardr, just rub it in james thanks . thats tight though lol i had a dream i did a w2w HS bs180 lol and i was like dude james did you see that haha

looks like the swelling is going down some. i havent put any weight on it since sunday night so im just keep on with that and hope it works.

go find some crutches and one of those soft cast things that holds ur knee straight. i worked perfect for me. keep the brace on all day and walk with crutches and at night take the brace off and ice it until u go to sleep. also keep it elevated when possible. i was back on the water in like a week but hurt it again the same way a few weeks after. it didnt fully heal until i took a month off from riding. i would definately take a month to rest it. trust me. it only hurts worse the second time u do it. seems impossible that it could hurt worse but it can. just rest for a month and ease back into things by walking on it slowly and stretching. good luck man.

ya thanks alot What else, pry the best bet to just chill for a while but its so hard not to get out there on my board lol. ive got in one of those soft castings right now. i ice couple times a day and try to bend it real slowly but its so tight
