| I'd always wakeboarded and tried to skate every once in a while but never took it real serious nor did i know the possibilities. a few februarys ago somehow i got set up to ride with ryan lemons, he only lives about 20 mins away. I could ride and lipslide and ollie and stuff...but then he rode and i was amazed. About a month later I was living at his house and dating his sister and waking up at 730 to him watchin a drift movie and wed go ride till like 2 come eat lunch and go back out. almost every day of the summer. Probly one of the best summers of my life. |

First time i ever tried wakeskating was when me and some friends took the bindings of their original obrien wakeboard and then took the foam padding from underneath the sandle strap bindings off of their directional board and stuck them to the wakeboard. This was before you could really buy wakeskates so we made due, couldnt do much on it, but riding around was just fun. _________________ www.levelthirtn.com |

i snowboarded, but it wasnt very convienent since i live in texas, so one year a couple of my friends from high school that i would snowboard with introduced me to texas ski ranch. i had learned how to get up and ride on a wakeboard behind a jet ski when i was like 14, but we never had a boat so i wasnt really into it. we started going to TSR all the time, and fuel tv had just come around, and i found out about this thing called 'wakeskating' and this guy named thomas horrell. my friend bought the first composite byerly skate and i rode it all the time, cause i never had a wakeboard or anything. then i bought a cassette concave (the transformer horrell 41) and sfumato and it was over. i would get frustrated building my old car and just go to TSR and wakeskate. now i cant even afford to do what i was doing with cars because ive become totally consumed by wakeskating. and i couldnt be happier. knowing that i now inspire other people to discover wakeskating makes everything so worth it. all of this could be gone in a moment, it doesnt take much for a career in this kind of activity to get cut short, so i never take any of this for granted. i just want to keep riding, and hopefully inspire some more people to find out for themselves the joy that wakeskating can bring. _________________ - Bret Little

| does it ever frustrate people that they didn't start wakeskating earlier. i know i do when i watch videos from like 2003 and think all the time i have wasted. before i started wakeskating all i did was get high and drunk and maby go skate if it wasn't to humid outside. now i get high build stuff (winch, rails) and skate which i connsider highly productive. |

the first time i heard about wakeskating was back in 2000 when my cousin tyler told me he bought an old wakeboard for a dollar and he was going to use it as a wakeskate. i had no idea what he was talking about. he explained it and i thought it was wacky.
in 2002 i saw free4all and was completely inspired by tim kovacich and grubb. but i still hadnt tried wakeskating. in 2003 i used tylers 116 scape and was blown away with how much fun it was. and then i met the guys on norcalwake and they all inspired me to push myself and have as much fun as possible. to me wakeskating isnt just about doing it, its more about who im doing it with. |

watchin grubb ride in boombox and f4a amazed me and at the time i hadnt even learned to wakeboard so i learned how to do that and did both half and half for two summers on my old hype fluid 136 wakeboard and rode that things without bindings for like a month, learned body varials and shuvs on it, then my sister bought me a scape and the rest they say is history _________________ "If I gave a crap you be the first person I'd give it to" -Unknown |
