Draft................

what do you guys think? im starting to think that here in a few years there going to enstate a draft. just wanting to see what you all think.

im not sure if theres a law but i hope they don't draft. i respect everything the military has done for this country, because personally i wouldn't want to do their job. great job guys.

They won't, because that would mean that the sons and daughters of the decision makers and big money people might end up going into a war. Its okay as long as its poor kids dying for nothing.

88skisupreme, about that...i think it is a rumor started by some angry politicians, probably democratic. i am personally a republican, but that does not affect why i think its untrue. first of all, there is little evidence that he was AWOL. i mean, there would have to be a massive cover-up for it to 'disappear.' George H. Bush was probably a senator at the time and he not have that kind of power. and if he did, i think ONE person involved in it would have come forward.

but then again, what you believe is what you read.

there is no law against the draft... it was just deactivated if you will... and there wont be a draft because the only person who would even consider it would be bush and he wont be in office much longer... reinstating the draft would probably call impeachment upon him.... it would be a carreer killer for anyone who tried... plus there are plenty of people willing to join the military because of the incredible benifits... you dont have to worry about the draft unless we go into a major war or if a war is brought to the homeland

They may have to at some point, especially if they are to meet a proposed projected troop level. By the way, just because something is "law", it can still be changed or modified by those who make the laws and policies.

Scare tactics. I put no validity in the claim that there is going to be a draft. No way it will happen again. Not for the war in Iraq. I will not fight for my country when it is not in immediate danger.

their not goin to reinstate the draft for another 20 k troops... bush could piss out that many more troops without a second thought .... i mean we had more troops over ther a few years ago... and its not like we had a draft then... maybe if we went into war with iran and north korea we would have to have a draft...

Bush won't do it before he leaves office. That is not the legacy he will want people to remember him by. And, if the Democrats win in 2008, as I expect they will, they are against the war anyway, so you can be assured that the draft won't be reinstated by them. Just my 2 cents.
