We found a floating section of dock with three 50gal drums attached to it.........it became our first rail but I always wanted to tip over.........it seemed very top heavy...........was it because of the dock's weight (which was a lot) or do the drums need to be filled with a little water..........if so how? _________________ Losers say that they'll try.............winners go home and F^&k the prom queen. |

Yeah they need to be in the water some, anywhere from a few inches to about halfway. As far as putting the water in, that depends on the kind of top they have. _________________

just cut a hole in the top half that's going to be closer to the deck and then silicone it afterwards. |

Yeah most have caps (mine have 2 each)...you should only need to fill them up about half way. Also, if you can get one more and do a 2+2 setup (or 2+2+2...depending on the length of your dock) it'll make it more stable.
I intend to build a massive floating funbox this summer with 50gal barrels. |

I don't know were you live but, here in Orlando at Orlando Drum on Hoffner just east of Conway you can buy some old ones that are perfect for $15 each. _________________ Choose your own path before it is chosen for you
