I am about ready to repaint my skate. Should I sand it down to bare wood first? Or does it not matter?

Thanks

Just sand it to ruffen the paint under it so your new paint job will stick. You can sand more if you want to but it's not really necessary.

Anybody know of some stuff I can use to seal the wakeskate after it is painted? So the design won't come off? Links would be awesome.

Thanks

Dave

Wakeboarderdave, I've painted my skates multiple times, and to seal them, i used to use some hard lacquers, and they deffinatly work, but they always change the color of the paint, no matter how light you buy the lacquer. So unless your skate is painted mostly black (which isn't affected by lacquer), the cheap, clear, spray-on enamal works just fine and won't change the color of the paint, if you plan to be hitting lots of rails, the enamal wont last more than a couple hits.. You can find the spray-on stuff next to any spray-paints...
Lets see soome pics of what you painted!

I'm still trying to decide on what I want to do. I was thinking of doing a design like this hoodie acctually. But have letters spelling out brands that I like. Kampus (my skate), reef, oneill, billabong, volcom, accurate, tahoe(boat). Would A white base or a black base look better?
