Who has only skated?

I was just wondering if there were any riders out there who had never wakeboarded before stepping on a skate. Maybe it will be a few more years when we see a young grommet who starts on a skate and passed the wakeboard phase up or maybe there is someone now?

i wakeskated before i tried wakeboarding and now only wakeskate cause wakeboarding is not fun

i learned to get up on a wakeskate as well, wakeboarded once after and realized how much worse the falls are and decided to stick to my roots..

wakeboarding was too boring for me, i mean for my abilities, i could do some w2w grabs and a w2w 3- IMO it was boring, but whatev.

i have an intresting story about never touching the straps.
so i broke my ankel skateboarding and was in a cast for a really really long time. and as i was in my cast all my friends "including andrew masi" and his sister, all got into wakeboarding, so ill i did in my cast was go watch them ride, and film. so i got really into the whole "wake" thing before i even got my cast off. i was saving up money to get a wakeboard while i was still in my cast so i could jump at it right when i got my cast off. so i get my cast off and i give it a month so i can learn to walk right and do that shizz. and my friend danny goes "lets go wakeboarding behind my boat" so i was mad stoked. we get his wakeboard out in his back yard i throw it in the pool, put some soap in the bindings, and my ankel hurt so bad in the boots. i was so pissed. so than andrew suggested that i wakeskate. and i was like !!!!!!!!!! YEAH! i completely forgot about that! so we went to rixen. and wakeskated ever since.

I snowboarded for about 19 seasons before switching to wakeskating. i only wakeboarded a few times. I was never found of wakeboarding because (a) I like my knees (b) boats = $$ (c) I like landing on a transition (d) wakeboarding too gymnastic-like.

With that said, I think that SOME wakeboarders so cooler tricks on rails than snowboarders do on rails.

Those are some good stories y'all, it's good to see the roots. I skated forever then surfed and wakesurfed before there were wakeboards. When I first saw a wakeskate, I'll never forget the feeling of love and lust for the sheer hardcore gnar of life. It is a life changing experience.

people who say that wakeboarding sucks must REALLY suck at wakeboarding and switched to wakeskating because thats the only they can do. I do both, but more wakeboarding Smash
