PIRATE, i wasn't meaning to be sarcastic i would actually like to see pics tho because i have just recently finished building a winch and not yet tried it out (which i should get on), but anyways from my house in the city there is the river that is close by that has a 4 foot high dam. One day hopefully in the near future i will get out there and skate it. I was just woundering if i could see your sick spot that you skate.

Probably one of the shittest places on earth to wakeskate, I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada(2 hours north of North Dakota). My wakeskating is probably done until next spring/summer because the water is getting cold i took the temp when i went out yesterday and it was at a scaleding hot tempature of 53 degrees Fahrenheit it about 69 in the summer but i just wish i lived some where i could skate all year around

about two months ago, i had a couple homies come down to wakeskate. they never saw a winch before. we went to this real long spot for some flat water. they both learned how to land start. things were good, until......

so my winch was tied off to ma tree using some thinner nylon rope. i used the rope a bunch of times before. the one dude gets up and bam, the rope snaps!

my winch took off rolling down the hill and took a dive into the lake. while runnung.
i quickly grabbed that beach off the bottom of the lake with adrenaline enduced super power and pushed it back up the hill.
flipped it to get the water out, pulled the airfilter and dried it over the car heater vent. put the airfilter back on. 4-5 pulls and she ran like a champ!

moral of the storyt: good o'l briggs

PIRATE, yeah i actually know what you're saying, we call it "winching for the sake of winching" it's like "cool i just got a new winch lets go ride across a pond and then walk the rope back and do it again!" but i say that and then later think that not everybody has a boat or jetski, and if that's how they want to wakeskate then that is more than fine with me, just to me personally, i live on a lake and have a jetski and to me it makes more sense in my case to build a rail on my lake, because winching it in a pond is cool, like that video mario c. just put up was pretty rad, but to me i could learn so much more in a lesser amount of time because i could just use the jetski. it's more efficient, that's a fact. but that's what's sick about the winch, it lets people wakeskate that don't otherwise have the opportunity to do so the traditional way. plus i know a lot of people like on the west coast and stuff and even on public lakes and rivers all across the country have a hard time keeping rails up legally in their riding place, so ponds and other winching spots are perfect for little rails and stuff. it's all cool, we're all feeding the same Lake, the Lake that is wakeskating and all its progression and all its innovations that are to come. enjoy it all, and keep the negativity to a minimum.

oh and PIRATE i know you dont care just cuz you're B.A. like that, but maybe if you cut down on the "g" word everyone would be a little less defensive, cuz no one likes being called "gay" for wakeskating the way they want to.

but seriously, there are soooo many spots where you could have flat water and a cool rail or two where you just CANT put a ski in the water or is too much of a hassle to...

I really don't see the point about bashing peeps for winching on flat water... besides trying to be a numbnut Very Happy
