to start Wakeskating on a serious level to just love it every day of you life like me
I just want to hear ppl's stories and what they have to say because some are pretty damn cool
Me, well Ive been on a wakeboard since 95' so i was already tired of doin my same old tricks over and over. I never really got into flips and spins because every time i tired one i had a concussion. My friends had a wakeskate, i think a old Mellisa 41 with foam top, and i just started riding around bare foot. Then I went to the WWC back in 04 summer and rode with Reed Hansen when he was just learning bs bigs... I came into the camp as a strapper, left a skater for life.
As soon as i got home i bought my first wakeskate, a 03 LF 43 Concave _________________ Helium - Devotid Wakeskates - Anarchy Eyewear |

I started wakeboarding maybe 4 years ago since my bf was riding and some friends as well. (Been snowboarding since forever) He went to TWC, rode with señor Reed and came back with a wakeskate. I tried it and was stoked, I think I was smiling and laughing constantly during my first run.
When I went to TWC the following autumn I switched completely to skating and haven't been strapping ever since... _________________ 01/20/2009. Niko-chan! |

I remember back when I was riding a scape, it was my second season, I could do wakejumps and shuvs and some 180s and stuff, I promised myself that summer that I would enter wakestock if I landed a wakejump and a shuv, then i did, i got them consistent, built a tower on my boat, then i read on the registration page on the site that it was pro qualifying and ppl were gunna be doing like stuff i wasnt even thinking about doing all summer, so then I promised myself that I would get good enough to enter and this year I am in. I still dont have a lot of those tricks but I might have a chance in my heat, who knows. |

Wakeboarded for a few years, learned the basics of waketowake tantrum blah blah, then my friend and i split the cost of a wakeskate just to try it...i never went back to wakeboarding...he went the other route b\c he sucked on the wakeskate and i picked it up pretty quick>>but my wakeboard just sits in my closet and collects dust, the only time i bring it out is when someone wants to use it, haha |

I've pretty much been doing water sports my whole life. Surfing/scurfing, tubing, spear fishing/free diving. Then I got into skateboarding, got out of that, somewhat, then I met some people who were good at wakeskating and ive pretty much been hooked for a couple months now. _________________ Back from the dead |

ive been on the lake since i was just a baby, sleeping underneath the bow of the boat, back when single skiis were the shizzle (have some killer photos of my dad dragging shoulder on a single ski with his 80s mustache and sweet mullet) and skurfers were just getting on the water. sold the boat when i was about 10 years old and got really into surfing. then bought a wakeboard boat when i was about 15, got really into wakeboarding for about 5 years, then this season started and decided to try out wakeskating. now thats pretty much all i do. ill strap up every once in a while for the hell of it, but usually only when im already tired and the waters shiznackle. |

I was wakeboarding for about 2 years but it was hard because I did not have a boat and I did not have the money to buy one. So one day for the hell of it I went to performance and rented a skate. I had so much fun that I went back and bought a skate and I have never looked back. After about 6 months of only getting to ride about 1 day a week maybe less I went out and bought a Waverunner and that was it. All over from there, no more straping. |

my parents were really into water skiing as i grew up and then my dad got a brand new four wins sundowner back in 93 and i finally learned how to get up on a wakeboard and started learning wake to wake stuff , last summer found the coolest guy on my lake with a 05 supra launch and started landing 3's and a couple different flips too make a long story short i fuked my foot up ( comming half way out of my binding and tearing some shizzle in my foot ) .... bought a wakeskate just to hold me over so i could stay out on a boardand realized im diggin this shizzle and my dad is buying 2 new 3 seaters so the end of this season and next should be a good start !!! _________________ Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for. |
