Damn these piss me off, I was attempting these for a couple runs today and just can't figure out what the hell Im doing wrong, my first one I was just messing around and let go and stuck it on the board but no rope haha, and it was all downhill after that. Any tips on these... timing, carving, holding the rope... anything? haha, thanks. |

mario c., my buddy told me the same thing when I was doing them, he said it looked like I was cutting too hard but when I didn't cut that hard I came off the lip at a weird angle.. |

yeah, it's like you gotta try to cut in parallel to do it right. lets try that this weekend and let each other know what worked. |

Most important point is to flatten off of your edge as you reach the other side to pop it.
Give a moderate edge at it and when you reach the middle whitewash, flatten off and let go of your back hand, while bringing the handle closer to you with your lead hand. Sounds like a lot, but once you let it flow and hit it, you'll have no problem.

88skisupreme, i throw my I/O earlier i think then just a flats shuv, i find it easier to throw it and let it float, then catch it, especially on just bs 180 shuvs.
but yea, flattening off just before you throw it is the key |

Yeah what nick said, and you can cut at it hard but just be sure to flatten out near the wake so your not off balance and it can work that way to. the harder you cut on the i/o tricks the easier it is to do tricks wake to wake. ie shuvs, kick flips, 180 - 360s. it helps with landings at least for me it helps. it also looks cool to do a big i/o shuv and launch out into the flats. |

yo pop that shizzle high, trying to keep it under you, let it rotate, suck up your legs, spot that landing and stomp on it. |

i just started doing these today, and i get the perfect rotation and foot landing almost everytime, probably from skateboarding. i usually spin the board right when i pop it and im fine. but i only had like 10 mins to try it and i got really close, i just fell backwards. hopefully ill get some more time to do these today. |

just do it like a regular shuv but dont try to pop it as high as possible cause it can get sloppy and harder to land o yah and like nick said flatton off before you get there |

for some reason i just cant get them, it seems like after i ollie off the lip when i try to do the shuvit i end up doing an airwalk and not even spinning the board. its really frustrating and ive been trying it for a few days now, even landing on the board on my stomach which hurt. but i did get the spin a little bit after i fixed the angle i was coming at, i used to edge over in a 20 degree edge, but i edge with a 45 degree angle and it works alot better! i dont know if it was just a coincidence or what. |
