|
|
So, its been three years in the making. Crazy, long, late nights. countless tank loads of gas (repping to stores and riding). beat up shins and knuckles, lots of stiches, a Flood, two cd players that died from dust inhilation and a grip of amazing times................ so here we are.........
I just wanted to officially come on the site and let everyone that our NEW line of MOVEMENT series limited edition skates and clothing are now shipping. We are selling these on ebay and our site www.devotid.com for $99. retail on these decks is $139.00. Quanities are limited. We are selling them for this great price to get the name out there with just the limited graphics. These are the same skates that we are taking to the skate/wake shops and letting them demo to show the quality and craftsmanship of our decks. We build our boards completely inhouse from wood selection, lay-up, graphics to the shrink wrap. All of our skates are made by hand, by me. One at a time.
ebay link: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZdevotidQQhtZ-1
Ive included some pics to show you a little of what we're about here at devotid. The pics are kind of old but you get the idea.
We are planning some demos in about three weeks in the midmichigan and Detroit area and I would like to invite anybody to come demo these new style of skates on us. I will have all the info on our website within a week or so and i will also let ws.com now the exact dates and times. We are working on a rail-jam/OPEN HOUSE here at the shop also for the end of the summer august/september (weve got access to a grinch winch. Thanks mario). If you would like to help out or sponsor the pool jam email me for more details through the site. It gonna be a great time.
- Also check out our site to get jessup griptape 44x 18 black, gray, white.
- sets of fins with hardware (windynamics carbon skate style .850) drilled to fit any board
- T-shirts and hoodies and hats
- Beach towels
- WATERPROOF MP3 players 128, 256, 512MB and 1G (not an ipod case and not the LF units)
Our next full blown deluxe skate due out this summer still..........
Thanks for reading and please dont be afraid to ask ANY questions
Kevin

this is striclty our FIRST "Flat" deck that sells for 139.oo retail with most of the options you would find a $200 deck. A nice quality board for a fair price. All i can say is that the new board will cost in the 200-250 and will be worth every penny.
I DONT want to be one of those people that say "this is going to change everything and the world of wakeskating as we know it. its coming i promise!"
thats not us well just put it up and you tell us if it changes anything.
thank you for the nice responses. We put EVERYTHING weve got into theses.
Ive been spending a little more time online lately due to the head bash i took at Mario C's house behind the devotid boat. 7 stitches in the ear. so im staring at the lake waiting to ride. lol

Fluid, you are a dousche bag.
kevin at devotid seriously has his shizzle together. when he first told me about his decks, i thought, making them in you r garage e'h? then he showed me some pictures, and finally over the weekend i got to ride the 40 inch flat. amazing quality. it's unbelieveable someone could make a wood deck from scratch, and have it so dialed in. the 5 stage rocker pops like a dream(just for the record, these were designed over a year before the omen) the weight is perfect, and the board is absolutely bulletproof.
for 125$, i guess it's woth for you to see for yourself.
oh yeah, kevin also fizzle rips. w2w 3-shuvs like wo.

all of my tooling, molds, templates and presses i built completely from scratch. No OEMing here. i used to Own a Custom Car fabrication and paint shop for years and was a machinist also for a while. maybe someday ill post some pics of the of cars ive built. theres a shizzle load. if youve ever been to any major car shows in MI youve prob seen my work hanging it 3 feet off the ground on and scraping frame.
MARIO: I cant ride yet cause the stitches (but i prob will anyway, doc said 7-8 days and its been 4) but im taking my wife and the gang to ride sanford tomorrow if you wanna come rip glass warm water when you get out of work.
hell if anybody wants to come rip tomorrow they can demo the new skates. Sanford lake, midland MI 5:00 pm to 10:00 -ish
CALL ME or email me first and let me know if you want to meet up.
click on this link and it will show you a map from the yellow pages website.
this is our home lake about 30 minutes from the shop. we have a awsome hook-up at a marina and they take VERY good care of us.

| Just curious but what was the first board that was made with a 5-stage rocker and what does this really help with compared to 3-stage.

i really have no idea what the first "5 stage rocker" board was. im sure somebody has tried many rocker configurations that came out to a total of five.
The reason that i made this deck was i wanted a 3 stage flat skate with kick tails because ive owned a gate and liked it but it rode to much like a wakeboard compared to my cassette 4 trac. the gate was cool but the kicktails really didnt work the way everybody thought it would. they didn't really "pivot" on their ollies they kind of bounced if you know what i mean?
The way i saw it was I wanted a 3 stage rocker with kick tails so that came out to a "5stage rocker".
when you load the Movement (ollie) it's giving your back foot more leverage becuase of the kicktails and that gets the nose a lot more height. You see the Movement skate kind of "pivots" on the end of the 3rd stage of rocker(about 7-8 inches in from the tips) , not the end of the board like most decks. Its similar to how a skateboard pivots on the trucks, not the tail. Then the board leaves the water at a higher angle which leads to catching and leveling off your ollies higher. to me it really feels more like a skateboard ollie. You can almost feel yourself wanting to slide your front foot (ok maybe that just me). It just feels more like a true "snapped" ollie other than a bounced one.
i was gonna draw a diagram but that would be just silly.

wow my ear needs to heal in just sitting in front of this thing all day.
