We were going to use our head unit and hook the ipod into that but when we hooked it up it was dead. Figured we dont really use cds anymore anyways so i just hooked the ipod right up to the amp.

Well maybe we will look into making something like this. The only things that concerns me is it would be custom on every ski to mount it. Our tower speakers had holes that matched up exactly to the holes that hold the back handle on the jetski. We used a 680 watt amp that we had but im sure you could get away with a much small one since its only powering 2 speakers.

I dunno about a sub on the ski. Seems kind of pointless. The rider hears the speakers more than anything so i dont know what good a sub would do. Maybe if you added some tweeters or something to the front of the ski?

urinal, just get an rca to 3.5 headphone jack cable

if you have a cd player that has input just skip the amp. it would draw less power and produce the same i would imagine.

flict., thought so about the convertor. what kind of speakers are you using? i've been googling for a bit and haven't found anything like those or even close.

after some discussion we came up with a plan to put togther a "do it yourself" pwc soundsystem kit. the kit would include speakers in custom enclosures (just like the ones on our ski), all mounting hardware, necessary wiring, on/off switch, and possibly tweeter monitors for the driver. the only thing not supplied will be the amplifier. we are going to throw one kit together and then put it up for sale. and see what happens...

Thats really cool. I hope it works out for you. If I had a ski, I would defiantly be interested.

How will you know that the speakers will fit on a certain ski? Or are you going to fabricate the enclosure specifically for the person who buys it?

Its going to have to be custom. The customer will have to drill a few holes. We will just provide the speakers, tweeters, enclosures, wire, switches, diagrams, etc. Going to try to keep the price low. All you need to add at this point is a amp or cd head unit and an optional battery if your ski needs it.

I would be more than willing to pay $200 for the gear and setup. I'm dying out there without music.

shocker,

That means that the sub can run 200 watts constant (rms), and it peaks at 400 watts.
