| man that does suck i was looking to go to the stop out in irvine, i dont have the money to afford to go to florida. so does this mean their is no way possible that i could ride in the irvine tournament and also what if their isnt 20 riders at the irvine stop does this mean i am allowed to then sign up and ride it in kind of like first come first serve |

i totaly dissagree with this, say some kid lives in BC like 10 min away from that stop, he saves up and gets his $135 and wants to compete in a stop and is like the rodney mullen of wakeskating but isnt aloud to compete and just says the hell with it ill just go skateboard? we may never know what could have been then.
my personal opinion about the tour is that this is not the good for me at all. i missed finals at worlds by 2 points and have no sponsors, so does this mean that i am inferior to the other riders? i was planning on saving up some money and going to the stops on the east coast and seeing what happens but i know there is no way i will be able to go out west. so if i get bumped out of the top 20 becuase i cant get out west i am not at the same skill level as the other riders? that is kinda sh*tty in my opinion. i think they should atleast have a qualifying round on friday or something to get new people in.

o and as for the INT, i had a lot of fun in it but i know that there is no companys watching it except hyperlite. so i would not consider that the AM version of the PWT, wakeskating and wakeboarding need something better as an AM tour then the INT

Greg, thats wut Im sayin. We need a AM wakeskate tour and this year because of what happened to the pro tour.

Last year in Orlando for opening round there were 120 riders on Saturday - Men, Women, Jr Men, and Wakeskating. It took about 11 hours to get through all of the heats if I remember right. Some of the other stops were as bad or worse (only a couple of stops had the women competing). It's obvious that you can't have unlimited number of entries but it is important to come up with a fair way to allow riders that can't or don't make it to Orlando for opening round a way to compete. I know several riders that will be having finals the same week as Orlando and it will be difficult for them to compete. And what if someone misses Orlando due to being injured?
I like the idea of having a single heat first thing Saturday morning as a qualifying heat for maybe 8 riders on a first come basis. Top 2 qualify for the event which leaves 6 heats of 7 riders in the first round, with top 3 from each heat making it to semi's on Sunday. |

Greg, please don't take this personal, but this is exactly what I am talking about. A professional would not have this attitude. If I had this kind of attitude at my day job, me and my family would be wondering when we would get to eat again. Maybe I am being too "hard", considering that these professionals are all still very young. I just know that if I were to "go pro", I would manage myself a lot differently.
As for the Rodney Mullen of wakeskating, that is possible, but unlikely. Riders can get noticed in this industry without having to compete on the "pro tour". The tour just added wakeskating last season.
I do agree with BillJ about missing Orlando due to injury. I did not consider that scenario. Professional or not, every rider will be injured sooner or later. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Brian Grubb was injured and couldn't ride the Orlando stop, but would be ready to go by the next stop. How do you think the tour would handle that?? |

| well all of you guys complaining about the tour thats why its called the pro tour and also you have to remeber triple crown you can go to those and ride and pro level competitions |

| dave, you have to see where greg is coming from, yoiu are getting paid on a regular basis with your day job but riders like him are not, they have to live pay check to pay check not knowing when the next one is coming. they cant afford to travel the whole country to skate, the sport just isnt giving out that kind of lute yet |
