I like my Oniel's I just got. Now back to the 4trac. I ride finless. I've tried NS slides, blunt slides, NS press, tail presses, which are alot harder then I thought with the stock 03 4trac fins. With the "NS" fins in, it is really hard to edge and ride around, as the fins want to catch and throw you off. Other then that, riding with fins might enable you to ollie higher, but I find them catching more and becoming a pain in the a$$.

Im supprized myself a lot of wakeskaters here in orlando are not buying the 2004 cassettes bc someone bought a Reed 41 and had it for 4 days then it broke he got really bummed and a lot of people are saying that the 2004 cassettes are not good boards. So i would think twice before you buy a 04 cassette wakeskate. Confused

Ya I know, I just rode mine (04 41 4trac) today and it was sick! The board rides 10x better then the 03 41 concave or 4trac. The only thing that worries me is that the board is already swelling up and looks like it will be water logged in a couple days. Of course, I slide it so much today, it looks like i've had it for months. crazy, huh? Crazy Eyes

DISCLAIMER: there is no BS in this post.

PS- there is some type of extended rocker or something that lets you ollie nearly twice as high (to me anyway) and allowed me to manual.

the swelling/warping has always been a problem with wooden decks. I presume this is because no-one can figure out a good way to laminate the whole board including the fin holes. It is here that the water has a direct route into the core of the board. The only way to stop this from happening is to fill the fin holes with candle wax, then they are waterproof. If you ever want to put the fins back in, you can push the wax through quite easily. But even with the fins screwed in, water still gets between the sheets in the ply. This is the good thing about wakeboard construction skates, they are waterproof, and if you ding the edge, you can fix it easily. Still not worth the shin-digs with those sharp edges though!! stick to wood, but give your skate 2 coats of laquor to strengthn it and fill the holes before you ride it. a bit time consuming, but worth it in the long run, trust.

I used contact glue on the edges of my 4-track when it delaminated because of all the rails. Works OK now but I don't know how long it's gonna last... I usually ride my 4-track with 1.1 fins and I don't use the specific 4-track "lock on" fins very often. Only at special occasions when I try to noseslide or when I do 50-50 one foots. I broken a few though.... They have a tendency to catch when doing liptricks...

I used a waterproff epoxy from Wal-Mart. It was a two part solution.

1. Clean out the split with a pocket knife.
2. Squirt some epoxy in there. Don't be shy with the amount.
3. Spread it around with your knife and really push it down in there.
4. Clamp it down with some C-clamps, clean up the excess that squirts out and let it sit for a day or two.
5. Undo the clamps and sand off the extra.

My Cassette Concave 03 lasted only 2.5 months (huge cracks, delamination, twisted shape,...).

My local dealer took it back and gave me a new LF 04 last summer.

OK, I know this is an old topic and we all know that wood absorbs water and blablabla..., but how does it come that this damn LF 04 is like new after 3 months of riding?

And how does it come that my 2002 home made wakeskate is like new too (even if I don't use it very often)?

I was considering buying a Cassette 04, but now I'm not sure...

My 01 cassette flat deck is still in good shape, but my 03 4-track that I have ridden twice was delamed in the plastic it came in, now it has tons of delams that appear worse when it's swollen.
Why is it that humans sailed the earth for thousands of years in wooden boats, but my brand new cassette doesn't look like it will last another two months Evil or Very Mad . There has to be a cure for this. Thomas, I love your shapes but something must be done.

I can't wait to get my hands on an Integrety.
