I've got three months 'til I get my license, and when you have a job without having to pay for gas the money starts to burn a hole in your pocket. I want to get an amp, sub, and whole new cd player for under $450 is possible. I don't know much about car audio so anything you guys can tell me would be helpful....

Find a back alley with no one around and take a coat hanger or slim jim and open a car and rip out the stereo and that'll save you alot of money.

Or if you think that is a little to risky take a brink and smash the window and take the stereo.

Then pop the trunk and take the sub and you have half of your setup.

Now all you need is wires and some new speakers and I cannot help you there.

or...if you dont want to be a dick! you could get on ebay. they usually have some good stuff for car stereos

for 450 you really cant get much a good amplifier can run 500-2000 dollars. then add up a good sub and new head unit......i would recommend Alpine for head unit....and also JL or Alpine Type R subwoofers...Infintys also make smooth low base.. as for amplifiers i dont know much.

bjr, I can get the stuff at cost from work....but what does the amplifier do exactly? I can do all this with stock speakers too right?

about the speakers....is this will all work with the stock speakers you wont get the full sound until the whole system is redone.

diamond audio has good everything.. if you have the chance to pick up anything from diamond go for it. i have never blown a speaker, amp or sub and have a 3000 watt system in my jeep. the higher end pioneer decks are nice as well. alpine makes good decks too.

and if you do get an amp you def need to replace the speakers. stock speakers just dont have the full sound and clarity of aftermarket stuff....thats why they're stock.

ebay - coustic amps - i got a few of them for less than $50 and they kill it. try overstock.com for a decent new head unit... possilby some speakers.

Jama, well my truck already came with sony 6x9s, i got a discounted package of 2 12's with box and 350 watt amp for $350 then i had to pay for wires which was like $50

yaa i remember when i first got my license and got all my shizzle...then it got jacked at school. now i have a ligit car that comes stock w/ a built in amp and it sounds money by itself... Laughing
