ok to start off with i im looking for a fun and easy way to wakeskate w/o a boat.. and ive looked at some winches but i came up with another idea. I live on a lake and have land on a river.. at my land we have a pretty old irrigation pump that hooks up to the back of a tractor to pump water for different stuff. my idea was to hook that up and run a pipe down next to the river and use some sort of plastic surface about 20ft by 20ft and just pump the water over it. it would kind of be like those artificial waves except i would shoot the water down the river and just have a handel attached to a tree or another object. I have yet to test the pumps output pressure but am looking forward to doing that very soon. if it puts out a decent amount of water do you think that i could funnel it down to a nozzel or something so that it will spread about a 2 or 3 inches of water over the section of plastic or other material? welll i just thought id tell everyone my idea and see what yall think of it. if any body has any suggestions i would appreciate it. |

You my friend are a genius, if you can make that work. I bet it would help if you put it on a decline, good luck. Make a documentary , I'd like to see how it works. _________________ dbanana wrote:

| That would be sick...you'd have to have a fast enough flow though. Maybe look up how much flow those wave machines put out, and see if your pump matches it. |

If you can think it...it can happen. try a Honda 5.5 h.p. 3 " pump. Puts out 300 gallon a minute. Can be found in Northern Equipment catalog. The tractor PTO is great also. Designed with your mind in mind. way to go !!! _________________ If it don't kill you..it ain't bad. If it does..it won't matter. |

| Yeah, my buddy and I tried that this summer with a fire pump and a piece of plywood covered in plastic on a slope. It didn't work that well because we couldn't get the board to plane on the water, maybe the pump wasn't powerful enough. Otherwise if you made some kind of chute you could make the water deeper and faster. Definitely try it out though. |
