my dad invented a new type of parachute that made u decend at the same rate, but move forward at a faster rate. not really much to it, but it was a really interesting concept him and his partner had. turns out he was the one who got to test it for the first time......everything was going fine until he was close to the ground and their method of slowing the forward motion down didnt quite work and he broke both of his ankles.....and this is one of those stories that completely defines the kind of person he was. have a good but potentially stupid idea...go out and work on it....not think it all the way through......get hurt.

he died 9 years ago, but i kept his skydiving suit and plan to use it as soon as i can.

I dunno it was crazy.... We were going up in the plane and at about 4000 feet, some guy jumped a little stop and pop, and barrel rolled for a long ways down, and I was starting to get really nervous. We get up to altitude and my buddy goes out first, and then we jump, I dunno, [edit] it just feels like you are floating and the wind is holding you up, but you are obviously falling, I can't really explain it. I grabbed my camerman's hand and we did a few rotations and that was really bad ass. Then we broke off and my instructor opened the chute, and the canopy ride was a lot of fun as well. I was speechless when we got to the ground. Anyone who hasn't done this needs to, it was a lot of fun.

She hit the ground at 50 mph. She was also topless.

marshk344, not at all... well, after your chute opens a little bit when you cut from one way to the other, but it's not bad at all... that part is actually a lot of fun.
